Amazing Hotel at an Ideal Location

This was my second stay at this hotel. The first stay was in October 2024. As usual, the staff was stellar. Every request and inquiry was acted upon with a cheerful smile and prompt efficiency. They delivered 100% especially when I needed it the most. The hotel is situated across the street from the Bad Reichenhall Bahnhof (train station). No worries since the hotel has excellent soundproofing. The public areas along with the room itself were immaculate. The bathroom had all the expected amenities including hair dryer, soaps and a towel warmer. The A/C runs well and can be adjusted. There is an Aldi supermarket and a store specializing in health products and cosmetics nearby. An Italian pizza restaurant is across the street (order the spinach and salmon pizza), and a Bavarian restaurant is a few blocks away. The Avalon is a family-owned and run business so you get that special attention you can’t get at a chain hotel. I highly recommend this property.

There is no restaurant on the premises that serves lunch or dinner or room service if that matters to you. The bathroom does not have a tub/shower combination only a shower if that matters to you. Underground parking garage (for a fee) is a bit quirky insofar as it requires an elevator (lift for my British cousins).

The location was super convenient - in addition to being in a beautiful part of the country. With a bus stop across the road we were able to go to Salzburg easily. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was great

Ordinary, but with all you need

I'd say just a boring hotel, but not in bad way - everything was ok, you got everything you might need, for the price - I like it. Breakfast very basic, but tasty, with vegetables, few bread types, fruits and nice cake. Staff was friendly, everything was clean.

Excellent hotel.

Room excellent, Staff excellent, Breakfast excellent, all the facilities are excellent, in fact it is hard to fault the Hotel Avalon. The breakfast is amazing, lunch is not required lol. All the staff are very professional and helpful, as British visitors we had to ask for assistance and it was brilliant.

The only things I would advise on is that: on arrival it would be good if everything that they tell you at reception was also printed. There is a lot to take in and remember. The other thing is the Car Parking which can be frustrating. There are only a few spaces out the back of the hotel. There are a load of spaces in an underground car park under the hotel, however to use this facility one has to pay 15 Euros Per Night!

A hotel that offers comfort, convenience and thoughtfulness in all aspects of their operation.

The management and ownership of this hotel gets it. The hotel was beautifully designed, very comfortable and they thought about everything. Other hotel owners should visit this hotel to understand modern comfort and hospitality. We really loved everything about it. Safe garage at a fee, wonderful breakfast on the top floor of the hotel with inside and outside seating. We enjoyed the breakfast outside and the views were breathtaking. The breakfast was the best we had on our 16 day trip. Delicious coffee from a machine, great selection. The hotel is across from the railway station. We were offered free tickets to Salzburg and to Berchtesgaden. We wanted to see the Eagles Nest however not enough time in the afternoon. We should be back to do that as a dat trip and we will stay again in this wonderful hotel.

Everthing was perfect. I stayed about 3.5 verifiable years at Marriott properties plus all the other hotels/resorts we stayed and I have seen many hotels. My wife and I both loved this hotel.

Spacious rooms

We booked 1 Junior Suite and 1 Deluxe Junior Suite. Junior Suite was stylish and the bathroom was very big.

At the checkin, one room was ready a bit after checkin time but sparkling wine was offered. During the stay, we had an issue with the staff which required an involvement of the hotel manager. After the checkout, the hotel director contacted me and managed well. So it was resolved.
