Too short!

Pete made us incredibly welcome, explained the 'housekeeping' to us on arrival, and left us to our own devices while letting us know how to contact him if in need. The accommodation is A1 and very clean and tidy. Brilliant shower. We only stayed for one night for a very functional visit, though the accommodation would be equal to a longer stay for exploration of the area. We were served a delicious breakfast in the morning.

Had to scratch my head on this one. The only thing I might suggest is, for bedtime readers, an additional bedside tablelamp , and possibly a bedside table, though the chair is quite adequate.

The perfect place to stay!

We were in the area for a wedding and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! The room was clean, comfortable and private. Ideally located in the centre of the village, directly opposite the Shop/cafe and the Taw River pub. Accommodation comes with its own kitchen space with small fridge, sink, kettle and microwave oven.

1) Not much storage space. 2) Room is very close to passing traffic, so OK at night, but not so good for a lie-in.

Tidy, quiet, comfortable, village location, friendly owner. I should have stayed longer. Best shower of my three-week trip. Good location for exploring Dartmoor. Lively local food pub and village store across the street.

Excellent, comfortable and friendly place to stay!

Excellent b and b just off the A30 so ideal stop off en route to Cornwall. The hosts were friendly, helpful and gave us a beautiful cooked breakfast. We ate at the pub opposite, home cooked food at amazing prices but make sure you book as early as possible as very well used. It’s the Taw River Inn. Apart from a good stopover there is so much to enjoy in this historic village so a few days there would give you plenty to do. Hope we can return, thank you!

Friendly hosts, very clean rooms with own key so always accessible. Good breakfast cooked to order served in hosts' kitchen overlooking lovely garden. Interesting Dartmoor village with moorland walks.

Friendly but unobtrusive owner, who was extremely accommodating. Particularly the following morning when I was looking for a place to work and was allowed to stay in the property beyond the departure time to finish my work. Outstanding breakfast. A very hospitable and attentive host.

Excellent All Round

Exceptional place to stay.Everything there you would require. Self contained with your own front door but part of a larger building. Own kitchen with microwave, fridge, table & chairs. A bathroom with a powerful shower & a large bedroom with one double, a single bed, Wifi & TV. Pete was a great host & cooked a wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice. Plenty of parking spaces in the street & a wonderful country pub dead opposite with a good selection of beers & excellent food at a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend.

Hi, it was a lovely cottage, with all amenities there, very clean and comfortable, we had our own front door and key so easy about coming and going, parking was right outside your front door . Pete was a friendly person, made you feel welcome, and cooked us a lovely breakfast each day, thank you.

Absolutely delightful experience and lovely location.

I was very pleased with the location. I was visiting family in the village so it was wonderful to be so close. The room is delightful - clean, warm and very cosy. I used the single bed, which was firm and very comfy The shower room was spacious. The bonus of a kitchenette with microwave and fridge was fantastic. I was concerned that being on the main road it would be noisy - but after around 10 pm there was complete silence and I slept very well. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.

Whilst absolutely no reflection on the cottage, the only tiny problem was mobile reception. The cottage provides wifi, but being in a valley - every home in the village has limited reception.

Just Perfect

A lovely bedroom and ensuite, with a small kitchenette and dining area. Private front door. Beautifully decorated and set in centre of the village. The breakfast was delicious with a view out to the pretty garden with chickens roaming.

Loved the mini kitchen allowing us to make hot soup after a 20 mile run. Breakfast was lovely and the host even offered us the use of an unbrella. Lovely and quiet at night with comfortable beds.
