A few plates would be great to use to heat food in the microwave

We deliberately chose the tiny room (basically a twin bed with a trundle bed underneath that then lifts up to the same height). We were only staying for one night and we figured we didn't need much room. We were pleasantly surprised by how clean and modern the room and its attached bathroom were. The beds were comfortable. The room was well designed with places to store things in spite of its small size. We did a self check-in as we arrived after the reception (in another building) had closed - the instructions were clear and included photos. Breakfast was a coupon to use at a cafe about 5 minutes walk. It was definitely good value for one night in the amazing town of Matera.
The reception is a bit of a distance if you have luggage to carry (10 minutes walk). The shared area with a coffee machine and kettle doesn't have a sink or refrigerator.
