"Anna and Marcella were wonderful! They went above and beyond to welcome us, addressing our needs, even arranging a tour of the Sassi."

This hotel is very well located, just a couple of steps from the entrance to the ruins of Sassi di Matera. The owners, Anna and Mariella, offered great service and advised on dining options and offered tours in town. The room was spacious and, like all other parts of the hotel, superbly renovated. A good Breakfast was served in a small adjacent coffee shop. Parking was available in a large, public parking building just opposite the hotel, which was great.
Carrying our suitcases up the stairs was definitely an undertaking, but we managed.

Very attentive and helpful owner. Room was very clean, modern and all good quality decor and fittings. Fantastic large walk in shower in the bedroom, with separate WC and basin. Bed linen was of high quality. Limited on-street parking outside property (metered) and municipal large multi-storey car park almost across the street which cost us 29 euros for less than 48hrs parking. Literally only a few mins walk from the door to the historic centre of Matera and it's amazing views.
I requested a room on the second floor expecting better views, but we were basically in the roof space with limited natural light and hardly any view at all!! Not what I would have chosen had I known so if you like lots of natural light, don't ask for a second floor room! Very limited supply of shower gel/soap in the shower and no glasses for water.

Great location, kind host
Air conditioner would not get below 28* C. Only 2 very small, old pillows. Uncomfortable beds
