Villa Santiago

This is a nice property, a lot of space inside and out. Comfortable beds, nice bathrooms and kitchen nice/was well equipped. Big heated pool. Large welcome basket with all kinds of goodies, wonderful. The caretaker welcomed us when we arrived and went through various things. We all loved the property, it lived up to our expectations. We arrived on a Wednesday evening. We noticed was the towel hanger upstairs in the bathroom fell off the wall when we hung a towel on it and there was a distinct sewage smell up there, one of the kitchen drawers had partly fallen apart. No big deal, Small thing that we made the caretaker aware of , so we would be held responsible for it. So we were looking forward to our stay and very happy with our choice of house.

Friday we needed to use the washing machine. That didn't go so well, it started out fine but at the end of the cycle it started smoking and smelt burnt. Let the caretaker know. Got a new washing machine on Wednesday after they had been to check out the old one on Monday. The new washer made so much noise,it sounded like a plane landing or taking off, the poor neighbors. Then on the second Friday (2 days after getting the washing machine )we were there, the dishwasher broke down, it wouldn't stop running,so had to call the caretaker again, let him know what was going on and ask where the circuit panel was so we could shut off the circuit, so the dishwasher would stop. Again people in and out of the house to fix it , they said it was all fixed. Well it wasn't, so again, another call to the caretaker. We eventually got a new dishwasher Monday. When they had left after installing the dishwasher we had no hot water....Called the caretaker, he came over and tried to figure it out with no luck, he called the owner, he came and the problem was fixed. When they left , we were going to put some dishes in the dishwasher, the door on the dishwasher just slammed shut, it would not stay open. Reason: they put in a dishwasher that was supposed to have a front panel like the cabinets , but they didn't put one on , therefore no weight to keep it open. Called again and explained the problem to the caretaker. He came over and wasn't sure what the problem was... although it explained it to him, he did not agree. But later that day he sent an sms and apologized and said that it was the panel that was the problem. The day after people are in the house again to fix the problem. Each time they came in to repair things they left the mess for us to clean up. We are all very aware that things can break down, nobody's fault. But it's how you deal with the problem/problems. They did a very bad job at that.

Nice house, very good service, immediate response in case of questions. What we expect for holidays !
