Saltwind Granary

A well-managed holiday cottage in a quiet - apart from the daytime farming activites - rural location, with excellent facilities (including a large freezer and bathtub) and a comprehensive guest handbook. We stayed during exceptionally hot weather but were prepared and made the most of it. We brought with us a pedastal fan to cool the upstairs living area during the day, though no doubt the Sandpiper, the management company, would have supplied one on request. The downstairs was pleasantly cool, helped by the tiled floors in hall and bathroom. Anyone wanting a beach will be disappointed by the description suggesting there's one a short distance away (100 yds?). The view from the top of the external stairs (connecting living area to garden) is great but I doubt one could see the sea even on a very clear day. Another confusion for Sykes to correct is that the property is only for 3 people, not 4.

Excellent facilities. A very comfortable and well appointed cottage. Everything was there that most people would need and we were grateful for this when we had two very stormy days. The location is close is the South West Coastal path and lovely walking areas.

The location is remote and access is via some very narrow country roads. We knew this before we booked, and although this did not cause us any difficulties it may not suit some people.

The bed was amazing!! The place was clean and cozy. Lovely surroundings.

The stairs going down to the barn, had to pull suitcases over the gravel stones. outside seating not good and entrance not welcoming, You pass all these gorgous chalets and then come to this so a bit pokey. We are in our late sixties so for youngsters the stairs and lugging cases up stairs in the chalet a challenge.
