Marsland Cottage

The property was a lovely size very clean, beautiful scenery! Very comfy and Chris was so accommodating.

I seen previously that people have commenting hard to find but we found it very easy, also with the comments of the track some was unsteady and easy with our 4x4 the only down fall was the x5 is very wide and the bushes have surfaced scratched the vehicle however I feel this can be polished out.

Cottage was self catering but we much appreciated provision of cream tea when we arrived. Cottage had been tastefully renovated and was very comfortable. Couldn't make use of conservatory/garden area as the weather was cold but the surroundings would be lovely in the summer.

We reached Trew Farm OK with Google map but didn't realise a separate track led to the cottage so retraced our steps till it became apparent we were lost. Host promptly provided directions which were good but we had added about an hour to our journey. A sign to the cottage would have avoided this. Also being older visitors, we had difficulty working out how to use digital cooker - some instructions would have made life easier. Similarly, a towel rail/stool in the bathrooms would have been helpful (sink in shower room was already cracked).

Lovely comfortable cottage. Super value. Easily contacted owner.

The track from the main road!

It was very good value for money. Beds were comfortable. Sofas were comfortable.

The flies were awful & the windows should have all had netting plus instructions on how to deal with them. There were only 2 teaspoons. The downstairs extractor fan & various lights didn’t work. The hot tap in the bath didn’t work properly. No hot water on last morning. It just wasn’t clean enough including tiled floors. Kitchen cupboards, beds & sofas smelt of damp. The owner should not have let himself into the property thinking we’d gone the night before we were due to depart.
