I have stayed here many times. I have stayed in hostels in 60 countries, and I can say with certainty that this is one of the best in the world.
It is well maintained from year to year (unlike other hostels) so pictures and reviews reflect what you get when you stay. The staff are wonderful and deliver a consistent experience.
Lagos has become a more expensive destination and hostel pricing has gone the same way - I just hope that it moderates so I can keep coming back!

The location and pool were great!
The beds were uncomfortable and the shower has no water pressure and kept turning off after a few seconds.

Good location. Clean facilities. Rooftop pool was fantastic. Lots of activities going on - we enjoyed the Portuguese dinner night.
Beds are close together and room is quite small for 8 beds which makes accessing the storage trunks very difficult. Bathrooms are outside of the room and shower water turns off every 20 seconds. There is also nowhere in the shower area to put your clothes etc. We are in our late 20s and definitely felt ‘older’ as most of the people seemed to be 18-24.

Staff is nice especially Brazilian girl and English guy.
Biggest issue is that Hostel misleads people by advertising Top Dorm with small balcony but actually allocates people in the MIXED dorm on the first floor with big terrace that joins 3 rooms and is extremely loud. People sit there till 1am and then get back at 3am and continue.
Also room which is advertised here and says bed in 6 bed dorm is MIXED and this should be specified in the title.
First floor is super loud - 5 mixed dorms with people coming and going in the middle of the night. And some guys bring girls back at night to the room.
Locks in the rooms - they are old wooden things that get stuck. But there are safe locks near reception but again they charge €2 per day a bit of a rip off
That they charge extra for towel
There is not curtains on the beds
Breakfast - they should buy 2 regular toaster it takes forever to get toast done
Toilets need air fresheners
