Dugdale's Cottage exceeded our expectations. It acted as a perfect base for a short stay in the Yorkshire Dales.
The cottage was well equipped, comfortable and cosy... It was a lovely touch to find a bottle of wine, chocolates and a pint of milk on our arrival.
Only a short walk to the town centre where there was plenty independent shops, pubs and restaurants and some lovely walks in the area.
We took advantage of having the Yorkshire Three Peaks on our doorstep and climbed Pen-y-Ghent during our stay.
The hosts, Andrew and Amanda were very approachable and nothing was any trouble.
Settle has become one of our favourite places to use as a base in recent years when exploring the Yorkshire Dales therefore we will certainly consider Dugdales in the future. 5*****
Parking raised a slight issue as it appeared to be a popular little spot to park up to 'nip to the shops' but we weren't there to be sat in the cottage all day.
The public car park next door offered free over night parking from 18:00 - 09:00 the next day.

This is a wonderfully charming small apartment right in the middle of Settle. It was an excellent location for my holiday in the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage is well appointed and has a modern kitchen and bathroom. It would be highly suitable for a couple seeking a cosy retreat to get away or a single traveller.
There was little not to like about this cottage. A few small things would further enhance the experience. Consider putting a soap holder in the shower recess. A light duvet of blanket being available as I found the duvet to be a bit to warm. Finaly, consider full block out curtains in the bedroom to keep it quite dark to aid sleeping.

Location was excellent. Hosts also left us a bottle of wine, chocolate biscuits and a pint of milk.🙂
Nothing!

Tucked away, generous welcome gift, real fire/wood burning stove. Had a problem with a battery fail in the smoke alarm and the owner came out and fixed it on Xmas eve, and gave us a bottle of fizz for our inconvenience! Above and beyond.
Could do with a few more mugs.

Perfect location. A traditional cottage. Very quiet and close to all Settle has to offer.
No Negatives for us.

The location was not easy to find as the instructions seem to have been written for car drivers, as seems usual.
The key box, and it was teeming with rain was about six inches [12 cm] above my head and I am 5foot 9inches.
I did ring the owners and Andrew was most helpful.
Persistence paid and we entered. My Down son kept me smiling as usual.
Well set up downstairs and all one could want for pots, cutlery etc
Heating is underflow, perhaps could have been emphasised in times when no logs provided!
The stairs which were narrow and steep and had no handrail. Perhaps a rope in hooks would make it safer? The details of the property just state: "Upper floors [Only one surely?] accessible by stairs only." They are not suitable for aged people. I am 75 but not on stairs such as these.
The upstairs TV was only useable with minimal volume.
Easy access to town facilities, with excellent chippy, next to good Chinese and 3/4 good pubs. And cafes.

Perfect location close to the town centre but tucked away in a quiet area with a great cafe opposite. Attention to detail was spot on-well equipped kitchen and cosy lounge and sleeping quarters. Nice decor and comfortable bed.

Location is excellent. Very quiet and only short walk to town centre.
The bed is rather too low, and quite difficult to get in and out from. No hooks in bathroom to hang clothing. No toilet roll holder. Parking is very difficult - had to park in ‘pay’ car park on several occasions as parking outside accommodation was taken up by other vehicles. Needs ‘no parking’ signage to ensure available parking.

Location great for the outdoors, three peaks challenge, railway station. Lovely old town of settle a short walk away.

The position of the cottage made made it handy for cafes, pubs and the station, which where all used.
Got to admit that after living in a bungalow for nearly 40 years the stairs were an effort. Trying to find the channels on the TV certainly past the time.

cosy, modern, comfortable and warm. Plenty of room for a couple. centrally located and convenient, we were perhaps lucky to get the parking spot but that was a great asset. the cottage could easily accommodate a stay of a week or more with a kitchen well-suited to self-catering and a washer/dryer. we had a great time and would definitely recommend it.
Nothing to dislike at all.

The property is located in the centre of Settle and is ideally placed for access to the Settle to Carlisle railway and for a number of local walks. There are numerous pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. the property is cosy, clean and everything needed for a self-catering break.

Walls looking a bit tired since our last visit 3 years ago, could do with a quick refresh.
Downstairs heating thermostat seemed to be switched off.

Comfortable cottage with good facilities in a great location. Modern facilities and lovely choice of fittings.
Shower grout was very mouldy.
Nothing in the fridge to welcome us. Milk and bread etc. would have been useful.

Super cottage. Lovely and cool in the hot weather!
The kitchen was very well equipped. The décor was lovely - very tasteful.
Great location - a short walk (100 yards) to the shops pubs and restaurants but tucked away so no noise!
Nothing - all lovely!

Characterful cottage, parking is great, nice big pay and display less than 100 yards away with reasonable rates if you cant get the parking space outside the cottage and in a great location to the town for local amenities or if you want to go on a nice walk into the countryside. Hive heating system great for ensuring its nice and warm for when you have been out. Comfy bed!!
Needs a good clean in the bathroom, especially the shower and the living room carpet could do with an update as it does not fit the room and seems tired, not that this impacted our stay. One thing we would have liked was to have been able to use the log burner but there did not seem to be any matches or newspaper to light it.

Cozy little cottage in a great location.
Owners left us some wine and fresh milk which was a nice little surprise.
