Hostal Cuija Coyoacan Berlin 268 Coyoacan

Excellent location in Coyoacan. Lovely neighborhood. We stayed in the deluxe double room at the front and up the stairs and it was simple but very good and clean. Street noise was there but wasn't a bother. Breakfast was limited to whatever they were cooking that morning (in our 3 days we had eggs the first two times and then quesadillas) or toasts. It was nice.

I guess I would've liked an electricity plug close to the bed. The night light and the ability to charge phones was on the side of the room which was when the sockets were. I prefer when there are multiple breakfast options and it's buffet style and at your own pace, instead of having someone cooking you, but it was fine. If there was one thing I actually didn't like, was the pillows. They were way too hard. I could've asked to see if they had a softer one or a cushion but didn't. Maybe they had one.

I booked a bed in a female dorm, and since there were no other guests staying in the room during my visit, I ended up having the entire room to myself, which was a wonderful bonus. The hostel is beautiful and located in the peaceful, charming neighborhood of Coyoacán. Lockers are available for storing your belongings, though you’ll need to bring your own padlock. Towels are also provided. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming throughout my stay. Breakfast was served after 8:00 a.m. and included orange juice, coffee or tea, yogurt, fresh fruit, and a different main dish each day. During my stay, I enjoyed tomato tortillas and tacos con queso—both of which were among the best meals I had during my trip to Mexico. Overall, I had a relaxing and memorable stay, and I would happily recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in Coyoacán.

Great location and the backyard was lovely, with a guava tree full of fruit and lots of quiet spaces on the roof for relaxing, taking calls, etc. Breakfast is included and is decent.

I wasn’t super impressed by the cleanliness or the installations. The room had large windows facing out into the open yard but the blinds were up and appeared to be broken, so you couldn’t open or close them for privacy. The room was VERY cold because of the windows and the blankets provided were not enough to stay warm. In the morning I went to the women’s bathroom and they had not stocked toilet paper in any of the stalls so I had to waddle back to my room and use my own tissues- not fun. They also do not provide shampoo in the showers. The vibe when I was there was very quiet and the staff were very reserved and would not really greet or speak to guests unless prompted.
