About this villa rental
The villa is built in the middle of a covered with grass private property of 2400 sq.m. The garden is surrounded by high trees, ensuring the privacy of the tenants. At the back yard there is the 40 sq.m pool with sunbeds and 2 parasols around it for relaxation in the shade. At the same side of the garden there are a barbecue and stone built benches where you can enjoy tasty meals. Moreover, there is a wooden outdoor dining set in a covered area outside the kitchen and outdoor furniture sets on the balcony of the first floor and at the back and front yards.
Stella Villa is a two floor building. The entrance leads to the spacious sitting/dining area with the fireplace. The separate kitchen is fully equipped and has a round dining table for 6 persons. On the same floor there are a cosy twin bedroom and a large bathroom. On the first floor there are two more bedrooms, one twin and one double and a bathroom. Both bedrooms have balconies overlooking the pool.
Stella Villa is located in the historic, coastal village of Maleme, 600m from the beach and the blue Cretan Sea. The area is peaceful, however in walking distance from the beach of Maleme with the taverns, the bars and the souvenir shops. West Crete is the side of the island where some of the most renowned beaches of Greece are found; Falassarna, Elafonisi, Paleochora. As you drive along the mountain roads you will meet many small traditional taverns with home-made Cretan products.

Lovely villa set in well maintained gardens with a large pool. The owners were very kind and left a welcome gift that was very much appreciated after a long day's travel. The property is minutes from the beach and several decent restaurants. Definitely recommend.

A large 3 bed, 2 bath property in extensive grounds, ten minutes walk to Maleme centre - where the Black Lantern has a mix of English and Greek cuisine, and ten mins walk to the sea front / pebble beach with 3 good restaurants (Mythos, Maleme and Waves)
Pictures are reliably accurate, but don't really convey the sense of interior space - plenty of room for a family, and every room has immediate access to an outdoor terrace. Wifi is excellent in the house, but doesn't reach very far outside.
Very well placed for exploring the North and West of the island with access to the E65 National Road only about 5km / 10 mins drive away - and use of a car probably is necessary. There is a large number of attraction leaflets in the hall table - useful for planning days out etc.
The pool is superb - not heated, but that's not an issue in the Cretan sunshine - lovely once you get in it after a hot day exploring Chania, monasteries or historic ruins.
However - be sure to pack insect repellant. The mosquitos were not a big problem, but the midges / gnats / no-see-ums were viciously hungry!
All in - recommended for all. (However disabled access would be difficult given the steps inside and the split level layout).

An older style property fully equipped to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Fantastic pool, always sparkling clean and a great relief in the hot sun.
Villa location is just a 10-15 walk down to local beach and lovely beach taverns and bars. Easy access to Chania, mountains and beyond. Owner was lovely and very helpful.
