Hotel Restaurant Anna

There is much to like about Hotel Anna. For those passing through as visitors, travelers or TDY it is a short taxi or bus ride from Ramstein AFB. It is a short walk to the center of Ramstein-Miesenbach with bakeries (e.g. Barbarrosa Bäckerei), stores (Netto, Action, yarn, clothing, etc.) restaurants and train stop and bus station (ZOB). The rooms are typical German: neat, clean, quiet and very reasonable. The building is concrete and solid. Bonus is the award-winning restaurant in the hotel where guests get a 5% discount. When warm enough you can eat al fresco. The staff are helpful, cheerful and multilingual. Stay at Hotel Anna for about half the price of Ramstein lodging. Your pocket book will thank you.

Room was clean and nice; balcony was a plus. Cozy quiet place to stay not far from Ramstein Air Force base.

The place is advertised as hotel and restaurant; The restaurant was there however there were never more than two people inside or outside the 3 days I stayed there. There wasn't any breakfast placed out or offered. It looked like the restaurant was closed, but not advertised as such.

Clean, affordable accommodations just a short drive from the Ramstein AB main gate. You can walk to the town center in about 10 minutes.

AVOID THIS HOTEL! One of the worst experiences of my life. The owner is incredibly rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Details below: We stayed here in May 2023. I arrived at 13:00 and hoped that my room would be ready a bit early or that I could leave my bags with them. No one answered the doorbell. And no one answered the phone. So I came back at 15:15. Again, no one answered the doorbell or the phone. Finally, a man came to the door. He pointed to the sign and said ‘check in is at 16:00’. I said ‘yes but I was hoping the room is ready a bit early?’ He said ‘just wait, I will check.’ I waited about 5 minutes. No answer. Then I see that the man is walking around inside the house. I wait a few more minutes. It was starting to get ridiculous. I rang the door bell. No one comes. I ring the phone number. No one answers (indeed, I could hear the phone ringing inside. It seems to be a landline, and not a cell phone). After waiting more and more minutes, I try the doorbell and the phone number multiple times. Finally, a woman appears at the door. She screams at me: ‘What is the name of your booking!? Please contact Booking.com and cancel your booking!! I don’t want someone like you staying in my hotel!’ I was shocked. I explained my situation. She shouts ‘check in is at 16:00! You can’t check in before that!!’ I tried to calmly explain that I knew that, I was just hoping for an early check-in. Or for luggage storage – you know, the normal things that most hotels around the world offer. Her response: ‘check in is at 16:00. This is the rule. You are in Germany and you have to follow the rules!’ I was very upset and distressed. I could see that this woman would not listen to reason or logic. So I walked away. I came back later in the evening with my girlfriend (the booking was actually under her name). I waited around the corner and hid while my girlfriend did the check in alone. Again, no one answered the door or the phone for my girlfriend.

The room was good for the money. It had the basics and was clean.

The hospitality was lacking. The staff was not very welcoming. At one point, they decided to close early for the night. Though I was sitting on the patio, they walked right past me but neglected to let me know they were leaving early. Because it was before 2100, I did not have the door code with me. I was just getting ready to head back inside when they left and locked me out. Fortunately, a guest showed up 20 minutes later with the door code and let me back in. I know it wasn't intentional, but most interactions with the staff felt pretty dismissive.

The room was very spacious and had AC! The burger at the restaurant was a delightful surprise and was delicious! they make the buns and they are the perfect ratio to the burger; not like thick German bread, but thinner, brioche style type buns. The restaurant staff was extremely nice and friendly!

Parking was a bit tight, but manageable.

It was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Customer service was poor. The lady who greeted us went away in a huff when asked if this was Hotel Anna. I had to ask for a fan. One room had a broken window that would not stay open. We had to ask for something to prop it open and the staff seemed indifferent about it. Eventually they did provide something. They said another resident had broken it. If that was the case, then why would they not be proactive in providing something without us asking for it. I would not stay there again.
