City Apartments

Pleasantly located between downtown and the west side on a fairly quiet St., this was a older building well-maintained with all the advertised amenities and excellent walking right out the front door.

I had no particular concerns

Very large comfortable room with decent kitchen facilities and a (small) bathroom with shower & toilet. Location is very convenient, just a short walk (<5 min) across the street to the subway-station that will take you to the city-centre in 15 minutes. On foot you have easy access to the Botanic Garden (15 min walk) or to Kelvingrove Park and the university & museums therein. Definitely a good option to stay in Glasgow, especially if you are not in a rush and allow sufficient days to explore in a leisurely tempo. The city is well worth staying a bit longer and City Apartments makes a great base camp.

Be aware that it car parking may be a bit of a challenge. The hotel staff will give helpful directions, but on-street parking is limited (paid on weekdays 08:00-18:00hrs with a max 3 hr stay). A potential alternative is the Kelvinbridge subway P&R (paid and officially no overnight parking allowed).

Quiet, spacious,comfy beds, delightful and helpful staff and an amazingly great value and delicious breakfast. Proximity to many great things was excellent

The rooms are getting older and a bit tired but we had everything we needed and it was clean.

The bathroom - water in shower took forever to go down. It’s too small and poor shower. The TV - too small and awkward angle, so could not really watch in bed. The lighting - poor. Just a few spot lights dotted around the apartment, which didn’t give off much light at all. The utensils/crockery - filthy…had to rewash everything before using. The fridge - leaked, but couldn’t work out where from Windows don’t open from the top (the other apartment did) and didn’t feel safe to leave it open when we went out or night time. Made it very stuffy. No full length mirror Lots of wasted space.
