Normandy Nature Paradise

For us it was a truly lovely home . Owners were warm and friendly. We stayed 10 nights and were very happy Very warm log stove with plenty of wood. Peaceful area. Shower is excellent Kitchen was functional and had everything we needed. The home is a cottage in the heart of rural normandy yet close to all facilities and tourist areas.

If you want to be way out in the sticks away from it all, with zero road noise in a hamlet with zero facilities, chickens outside, rustic beams inside and more character than Dame Edna Everage and Les Patterson rolled into one then this is for you! After unpacking we sat on the bench outside drinking cidre, watching the chickens and listening to the silence - utterly fabulous. The cottage is from an age devoid of building inspectors and regulations and has clearly evolved into its current state through a long and convoluted process that provides interest everywhere you look! There were loads of towels! There still would have been loads of towels even if there had been 6 of us!

Directions given matched all the other little side shoots in the hamlet and were too late anyway - just give the house numbers shown on the 2 boxes, or put a sign up to the name of it! There is no means to get an evening meal anywhere near so make sure you have food with you. There actually was some dry foods left in the house so this is clearly a known problem! The kitchen is fine, all you'd expect for a cottage for 6, with a normal size fridge with a small ice box.

The location was great, and very peaceful. The hosts are friendly and informative. Great value for money

Kitchen equipment is basic, oven was challenging to work due to age. The place was not as clean as I would have liked. Wifi did not work for the length of our stay.

We stayed for one night en route to our final destination. It was exactly what we needed. clean, relaxed, comfortable and welcoming.

Absolutely nothing could have improved on our stay with Marina and Terry.

Terry and Marina have been exceptionally welcoming as have their family, the cottage is lovely in a peaceful part of Normandy great for people who need to get away. I cannot praise his place enough

Nice and comfy leather seating area and huge tv. Dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer were good. Plenty of books available and some games and a plentiful supply of logs for the great log burner. The house is in a very rural location with chickens, an odd sheep and a donkey for neighbours. It was good for our dog to be able to go in and out if the house as he wished as no fear or him getting onto a road. Terry and Marina were really nice people and made us welcome. It was far too rural for our liking so we left a few days earlier than we had booked, to go and stay in a town with a bit more life.

Difficult to find. No signage. Our sat nav took us to a spot on the road and we had to phone for directions. Were asked to drive to nearest town and we would be met and guided to our accomodation, which took us straight back to where we had stopped initially then down a narrow track to our destination. Our first impressions were that the house was very cold and dark. Even on warm days, the log burner needed lighting to warm the place up. It was very dark too, with the only main lighting being along one walk and you had to sit directly under it if you wanted to read. There were two lamps, one of which the shade was hanging off. My husband had to resort to reading by torch light. We had to have the lights on, even on the sunniest of days. Only French TV, ( although the owners had English) but we had taken our Firestick with us which enabled us to watch some English programmes, Wi-Fi permitting. The Wi-Fi was not at all good and either dropped the signal regularly or there was no signal at all. The cleanliness wasn't too bad but lots of cobwebs, but we were in a very rural area. The kitchen equipment was a bit hit and miss. There was a toast rack and lemon squeezed but no tin opener, a decent oven but no oven trays and a gas hob but the gas lighter had run out. We were promised a new one but it didn't materialise. We bought our own oven tray and gas lighter. There wasn't a frying pan either and was given a wok/casserole type pan but it wasn't a frying pan so we bought one of those too. The outside seating area was nothing like the photo on the description. Could have done with some proper garden chairs to sit out on as the weather was beautiful. The garden was unsuitable for any activities. There was nowhere to dry your hair. There were two mirrors; one halfway up the stairs and one in the bathroom but no plug sockets near either if them.

Location d'un autre âge et pas propre et très mal entretenue ,odeur nauséabonde dans la maison ,cuisine sale mobilier pas entretenu avec des traces douteuse ,plaque a gaz mal entretenue et mal nettoyée Literie composée de matelas d'une autre époque le tout accompagné d'un chauffage d'appoint tout petit et certainement inefficace, salle de bain sale joints de lavabo moisi et sale ,douche dans le même état et WC aussi et aussi des toiles d'araignées le long des murs,nous avons fuis ,après avoir posé réclamation auprès de la propriétaire qui n'était pas présente Seule chose positive le remboursement quasi immédiat par booking après l'envoi des photos prouvant nos dire

La vétusté des lieux ,la saleté La poussière, le chauffage avec un poêle a bois (j'ose pas demander si le conduit a été ramoné)la vaisselle empilé dans un placard sale Et notre crise de cafard en voyant cela ,les photos ont dû êtres faite l'ors d'une rénovation très ancienne

Je crois que les autres hôtes ont déjà tout dit : maison sombre qui mériterait d'être beaucoup plus entretenue. Il n'est pas pensable de faire louer un logement aussi peu soigné et surtout de ne pas prendre en compte les remarques des hôtes. Les matelas sont à changer; il n'y a pas de rideaux pour faire le noir complet ; la vaisselle pourrait être plus fournie (surtout les verres); il manque un panneau de douche...

Het uitzicht was heel mooi, al kon je er niet echt van genieten aangezien het terras niet onderhouden was, houten tafel en bank totaal versleten, bank viel bijna om. Gelukkig waren de bedden nog proper genoeg en sliepen we nog redelijk ok. De douches waren (leken) redelijk proper genoeg en werkten. De host verwelkomde ons aan de deur tot in de living, vanaf daar mochten we alles zelf uitzoeken, was zij wat op haar hoede wetende wat we allemaal nog aan negatiefs zouden ontdekken?

Bij aankomst had het huisje echt geen uitzicht, terras heel vuil, onkruid overal, houten tafel verweerd en vuil, de houten bank staat zelfs op instorten. Aan een rek hingen handdoeken, terwijl een kat en 4 kippen er vrij rond zwermen. De BBQ en wasmachine moesten we zelf gaan zoeken in een berging achterom, evenals de microgolf waar je eerst wat etensresten en stof moest afhalen. De BBQ vertoonde ook nog etensresten van een vorige gebruik. In de keuken stonden geopende, deels opgedronken flessen water, over de dampkap hing een handdoek om weg te steken dat de filter/kap ontbrak en deze dus niet werkte. De living en slaapkamers leken wel wat gepoetst, zij het enkel de vloer, de spinnenwebben in hoeken en aan de plafonds waren niet te tellen. De beloofde Wifi in alle kamers werkte niet, er was gewoon geen Wifi te bespeuren. Als je de host hiervoor een bericht stuurt, krijg je geen antwoord. De man die op het hof liep, lachte ons gewoon weg bij onze vraag en zei dan met de vrouw zelf contact op te nemen, waarop dus ook geen enkele reactie kwam. Bij ons vertrek was de host opnieuw niet te bespeuren, we stuurden dan maar een bericht dat we vertrokken waren en de sleutel achterlieten.

Gîte très loin de tout. Les draps, taies, couvertures n'ont pas été changés depuis..... toujours ! Nous avons constaté après avoir fait quelques courses que le four ne fonctionnait pas. Des tasses avec encore du café, hotte défoncée, téléviseur obsolète, décodeur TNT sans télécommande, odeurs très inconvenantes à l'intérieur du gîte : poussière, tabac froid. WiFi annoncé inexistant. À cause de cette expérience et, constatant le manque de contrôle des hébergements, je ne passerai plus par Booking Passez plus de temps à contrôler et moins en publicités

L'environnement. Les étages " coin nuit" et le confort de la literie, ainsi que les 2 salles d'eau.

Cuisine exiguë et mal éclairée, placards sentant la moisissure, peu de vaisselle, hotte aspirante cassée ( une partie tronait près de la porte d'entree). Difficile pour 6 personnes !!! Peu d'éclairage dans la salle à manger.!!! Salon extérieur inexistant hormis une table et un banc en bois pas entretenu.

Le lieu est vraiment un paradis nature. J y suis passé une nuit en juillet 2025. Entre les fleurs, les arbres fruitiers, les fleurs animaux et le calme de la campagne vous êtes tout de suite dépaysé. La maison était propre, ouverte et la propriétaire avait en sorte de tout aérer pour qu elle soit fraîche à notre arrivée.
