Landhaus zum Griena makes an excellent choice for visitors to Mayrhofen

Landhaus zum Griena is about 200m or so from the main Penkenbahn access lift and the family who own the guest house are extremely welcoming and go the extra mile to make a visitor welcome. The breakfast is particularly good in terms of quantity, quality and variation. Views from the guest house balconies are great and the location is quiet with no disturbances. Meanwhile the railway station is very accessible where the local buses and ski buses also stop.

A very minor niggle - put a brighter light in the ski room please.

Good location, good service, good price.

Well, Landhaus zum Griena is 5 minutes walk from the ski lift. The appartment was large with its own terrace and its own entrance from the parking lot. The hotel room was new after a reconstruction with its own balcony. Overall, I positively evaluate the price in relation to the services provided.

Excellent choice of accommodation, would return here next time

Cracking little hotel in a fantastic location, really close to Penken lift. Google map doesn’t show it, but there’s a little shortcut path that makes the walk to the lift / high street really short, about three minutes. Also the staff were wonderful and really helpful.

Breakfast could have been better, just the usual continental cold cuts / boiled eggs / etc. Although this is pretty normal for Austria. Coffee wasn’t strong enough but at least it was fresh (yes I’m a fusspot!)

The room was immaculate, very new and modern. Breakfast was varied and comprehensive. The owners, mother and daughter were very friendly and helpful, a perfect base in mayrhofen.

The Internet was very poor signal and occasionally dropped out completely. Property was hard to find as their sign was very small and virtually invisible after dark.

Beautiful apartments with a mountain view

Perfect location. In the town centre but quiet because it’s far from main road. Room was big enough with an own balcony. Amazing stuff waiting for me even when arrived late night. Breakfast just fine if you are hungry and don’t require 5star restaurant style.

Our family came to Austria for ski holidays and stay in "Landhaus zum Griena" from 2022.02.16 till 2022.02.23 - 7 nights. The reservation was for “2 adult+1 child (12 years old)”. The "Landhaus zum Griena" located in wonderful valley Zillertal in center of Mayrhofen, in 5 minutes’ walk from the Mayrhofen railway station and in 3 minutes’ walk from the main large ski area Mayrhofen ski-lift – Penkenbahn. The supermarket Spar – in 2 minutes’ walk from the house. In the evening, when we arrived to Mayrhofen the owner -Anna was all time on connection with us and welcome met us in the house. Our apartment placed at down flor of the house. There was a small hall in apartment from witch were separate entrances to the bedroom, combined room, WC and bathroom. In the bedroom were two big beds, the wardrobe, and the table. In the big combined room with small kitchen-part were dinner table, additional sofa and few cupboards. From both rooms were exit to the sweet patio with garden chairs and table. The apartment has all mentioned conditions and accessorizes indicated in reservation, all apartment was clean, accessorizes and furniture mostly new. There were all firstly-need kitchen accessorizes, towels, linens in apartment. We glad to say that our stay in "Landhaus zum Griena", conditions in apartment, its location and especially owner-Anna care about our stay, complemented the excellent ski in Mayrhofen. Dear Anna, from all our family we appreciate to You for your care and help! Best regards to You and your family! Our family happy to recommend "Landhaus zum Griena" to stay in Mayrhofen!

Everything in apartment was super! Only the weather sometimes could be better - few days it was very windy so few ski-lifts and 15-20 ski lines were closed

Anna and her family made us feel like home ❤️

Our apartment was simply great: crystal clean, had lots of storage for all our clothing, a comfy bed, a balcony with a beautiful view, a bathtub for relaxing after a long day of skiing and a huge tv for extra entertainment. Big plus: the in-house ski storage, the lovely breakfast and the quiet-but-convenient location. We’ll be definitely coming back!

This family run guest house is in a great location of Mayrhofen. It is a short walk to the Penken Bahn cable car, for access to the Penken/Ahorn/Rastkogel/Eggalm ski areas and High Street, where all the best restaurants and cafes are located. Our hosts, Anna and her Mum are very welcoming, accommodating and lovely people. We had a nice warm room with a balcony and views of the mountains. The rooms are cleaned daily and the bedding and towels were changed during our stay. We were fortunate to have a new bathroom with a great shower. We had a really comfortable, relaxing stay during our 2 week snowboarding holiday. We are looking forward to returning.

Sleeping comfort is completely missing: - jelly fish like pillows (we asked for additional pillows and it was provided but it doesn’t help - additional ones are same awful) - awfully extremely squeaking bed, every move is loudly sounded - very poor mattress, back pain will be with you all the time - non-existing sound isolation, you can hear washing machine working every evening (until around 0:00) and clearly hear all other guests walking, talking, etc.

Great room facilities. Very friendly owner of the house, who, by the way, handle the described above situation with blankets and I got for free a thinner blanket. Beautiful mountains.

There were a lot of upsets like fairy poor breakfasts without fresh fruits with only two buns allowed and stinky horse farm nearby, which force you to close all windows and forget about balcony. But the worst thing was the service. Few times servant woman just forgot to serve a part of a breakfast, in particular, forgot to give sausages (limited 5 slices of cheap sausage each morning). And when she recognised that she missed to do it, she, instead of apologizing, said that I "should" remember her about her duties! When I asked her about hot milk for muesli she suggested me to take cold one, but add boiling water! Once after a really warm night I came to the breakfast and asked her whether it is possible to have a thinner blanket. She said "of course, but probably you should pay extra money for this". And then she motivated this approximately as follows: "when driver wants to changes tires in his car, he needs to pay". However all things mentioned before is literally nothing comparing to the following moment. Somewhen in the middle of my stay this woman got sick. Moreover, another members of her family like one of childs also got sick (so this is not a cold or some kind of allergy). How do I know? Both of them just started to have a terrible dry cough. You can suppose that in this case the servant woman will start to wearing a mask, gloves and keep distance. Wrong! So imagine, your having breakfast and the servant woman have a 30 second cough attack in the nearby room. Then she comes to the breakfast room (without mask and gloves), goes to your table and, staying just above you, start a conversation about, for example, russian (by the way I am not from Russia) words she knows (come on, its 2021 and there are other countries to the East of Austria except of Russia). Disgusting... By the end of my vacation I also got sick. Was it because of the servant woman? I will never know this. But the fact remains.

Excellent place to stay!!

Anna made me VERY welcome at this lovely, traditional guesthouse. The location is excellent, only a five minute walk to The Penken cable car and yet just far enough away to offer peace and quiet. My room had recently been refurbished and was spacious with a modern bathroom and balcony. There was even the use of a communal fridge on the landing for guests to use. COVID-19 measures were in place and I therefore felt very safe staying here. I will definitely be back!

Austrian charm

The location could not have been better, it was close to the Penkenbahn and centre of town but far enough away for a tranquil holiday. The owners were friendly, warm and hospitable and we felt comfortable and safe throughout our stay. The room was large with lots of storage and the bathroom and toilet were newly refurbished to a high standard. We had a large balcony and the beds were comfortable. Daily turndown and towels changed regularly. Breakfast had something for everyone. The ski room was secure and worked well. Thank you so much for a perfect holiday.

Tea and coffee making facilities in our room and extra pillows would have made it a little bit better.
