Riad Tahar Oasis

My room (suite) was amazing. really comfortable and spacious, the whole riad is lovely especially the inner courtyard, which is surprisingly cool (when it's very hot outside), so perfect for relaxing after lots of sightseeing. Its a great location within Medina, a nicer part that's easily walkable to main attractions. It might be hard to find on own but they offer to meet. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and very filling. Big mention to Idar who was so friendly and helpful; gave good recommendations. Housekeeper was friendly too.

There wasn't really any negatives, one slight point was wifi signal was weak in bedroom but you can do without phone. I just used it when downstairs, where it ran perfectly.

Once you find the Riad, you actually live like a true local. It is hidden in an alleyway with dark corridors, cats and painted signs, helping you to find it. You get to the beautiful wooden gate and behind it is a peaceful beautiful oasis. The rooms are elegantly decorated, the swimming pool is small, nice and cold. The caretaker is engaged and flexible. The breakfast is very good and served on beautifully painted pottery. The roof garden has great views. The owner was extremely helpful when I had an accident.

The Riad is in the middle of a souk. You have to walk with your luggage for about 8-10 minutes from where taxis are barred. The crazy amount of stalls selling the same things can be overwhelming.

Very friendly staff

The staff is nice and helpful, especially the lady cleaning and making the breakfast. Bed was comfy and the room clean.

It was very cold in Marrakesh and it seems like they don’t have much hot water so I had to shower cold twice. I recommend showering on off hours since it’s more likely there will be hot water. In the sink in the bathroom there were no hot water at all at any point. The ac was too small for the room so didn’t heat it up enough but it was fine since there was a large warm duvet. I would also recommend the guy working there to perhaps not sleep in the open room behind where you have breakfast. It was weird sitting alone having breakfast knowing that he was sleeping there. I travelled for business and forgot to ask for a invoice upon check out and now I have requested them to email it to me, 5 times, but still haven’t got it. Seems impossible unfortunately.
