Les Jardins du Cèdre, Boutique hôtel & gastronomie

We booked according to the photos on Booking and we were not disappointed at all. The place is stunning, the massive cedar tree and the pool with the sea view are the main characters of this hotel. Rooms in the new building are very spacious and design is great, with large terrasse and sea view. Our kids stayed in a smaller room in the main building but still a good value. The breakfast is very good, generous, served until late which makes it a proper meal for the family. They also provie 2 types of restaurant : a formal gastronomic, and a tapas bar near the pool whit very good food and wine, and faire prices. 5 min drive from the hotel, you access Paulilles beach and wine domain, a stunning place. 5 min drive north, you park in Collioures village.

I would have like to have a cooler in the room to store our own stuffs. (actually there is the slot but not the devices, been removed obviously). Travelling with kids it's always convenient to have some milk/drink and fresh snacks available. We understand the business need to invoice every drink and snack, but a cooler in a room is a basic for any hotel in the world.

The grounds and staff at this hotel were great but the room let it down. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were lacking in comfort (no choice just two provided). The room was very small and there was hardly any room for two people to move about. This included the bathroom - which was not adequate. The toilet pot on the wall was far too high off the floor and the sink was sat on a unit which was broken. Also the carpet in the corridor was in poor repair and felt dated.
