Traverse du Vieux Château

Excellent location (though mind the many steps), beautifully located in the old part of Menton. We loved this apartment, the host has thought about every little thing and the kids were so excited to explore the small but complete place.

Modern, well equipped apartment in nice location of old town, close to the beach, restaurants and shopping area. Free on-street parking is available not far from the apartment, although quite difficult to find free slot during high season. Locate uphill - we were happy to have a bit of extra exercise running steps up and down. Very friendly host Micaële, which helped with parking and overall navigation.

Microwave would be a benefit. Quite slow WiFi ( ~5 mbps). Air-conditioner was broken. As substitution, we had on floor air conditioner as temporary solution, but exhaust pipe has to be sticked into open window, which did not make it efficient as hot air was getting in.

Best was that we could reach everything on foot,Monaco by train. Many nice restaurants in the area,our favourite: Volcano Pizzeria in the town. Beach is for free, great,clean and modern compared to overcrowded, low standard and expensive paying beaches in the neighbouring country.Beaches in Menton with clean and modern toilets and lock up places, changing wardrobes all for free! It's definitely worth going over the border.

Air conditioning was not working properly or was just too small for the apartment, land lord promised to have it checked. Bathroom and toilet are very small, but all houses seem to be extremely small in the old town,so I guess it's not unusual. The apartment is very nicely decorated, for me a bit overdone, to open the bed downstairs a table and the swing chair had to be moved always back and forth, we packed some deco away so that we can have place for our small everyday things.

Sehr freundlicher Kontakt. Die Vermieterin zeigte uns wie wir günstig parkieren können. Die Lage direkt in der Altstadt, sehr ruhig. Bad und WC waren getrennt, dies hat uns sehr entsprochen. Nähe Strand.

Uns fehlte ein wenig der Abstellplatz, da dieser mit Dekogegenstände belegt war. Für eine vierköpfige Familie möglich, jedoch nicht übermässig Platz.

Perfekt läge, många trappsteg upp men ändå bra 😄

La casa è molto pulita e confortevole. Pieno centro storico di Menton sei vicino a tutto. Parcheggio vicino (con disco orario 2 ore). Tutti i confort, seppur in spazi ridotti.

Spazi un po' piccoli (noi eravamo in 4+1 bambina di 9 anni).

Ristrutturazione originalissima, elegante e in ottima posizione.

Le lieu est situé dans une jolie rue de la vieille ville, dans les hauteurs. La maison est très propre, très bien équipée, et bien au calme.

L'accueil absolument terrible de Micaële lors de notre arrivée: 6 mois avant notre voyage, nous avions convenu de notre heure d'arrivée par écrit. 4h avant notre arrivée, nous avons reçu un mail nous disant de confirmer notre heure d'arrivée au moins 4h à l'avance, ce que nous avons fait immédiatement. L'hôte nous a reproché de ne pas l'avoir contactée 24h à l'avance. Lorsque je lui ai montré son message, elle m'a accusée de l'avoir écrit moi-même, ou alors que j'avais mal lu. Lorsque je lui ai envoyé une capture d'écran de cette information, celle-ci a été ignorée. L'hôte est arrivée avec 15 minutes de retard, sans aucune excuse, alors que nous nous sommes dépêchés pour arriver à l'avance, en montant péniblement à pied jusqu'à la maison, où nous avons attendu sous des rafales de vent. Sur la confirmation de rendez-vous, le lieu de récupération des clés est la maison en elle-même, mais dans le fameux mail reçu 4h avant notre arrivée, on nous dit qu'il faut grimper 200m plus haut pour rejoindre notre hôte. Lorsque j'ai demandé à la rencontrer à la maison comme prévu, j'ai reçu un message vocal avec un ton exaspéré de sa part. Enfin, lors de notre arrivée, Micaële nous a dit "je suppose que vous êtes un couple, donc vous utiliserez un seul lit", et lorsque nous lui avons dit que nous voulions utiliser les deux chambres à disposition, elle nous a dit "la moindre des choses ça aurait été de me prévenir!". L'introduction a l'appartement a été très directive, avec simplement une série d'injonctions et de mises en garde (un moment mémorable a été d'entendre que nous ne pouvions poser aucun objet sur le frigo, car il est décoratif et risque d'être endommagé si on pose un objet dessus...), si bien que nous n'avons osé toucher à quasi rien, de peur de recevoir des frais supplémentaires ou des reproches.
