wonderful staff, excellent location, facilities old, prices too high

Staff is great and location is amazing; situated on top of the hill 15 minute walk to wonderful Čedad. when you sit on the terrace, looking at scenic hills, it is quite an experience.

They are most definitely not 4 star hotel. Rooms are old and air conditioning looks like a health hazard. Walls are paper thin. The problem is the price - not worth this type of stay. Beware - spa is extra charged for 30 euros and has funny opening hours. so for around 200 per night you can get much more for your money. Breakfast is also very average, some sweets were nice and coffee was insane, served by a really nice lady.

Superb

Everything was perfect from the first moment. We booked the hotel for New Year (weekend). Hotel (Mrs. Barbara) helped us with booking for New Year's Eve dinner in a local restaurant. The wellness area is very cozy and relaxing. The staff couldn't be better. The location and the view are incredible. Warm recommendation. Don't think twice - book now!

location is just 10 minutes by foot from the village centre.

the swimming pool , spa, rooftopbar and restaurant were closed when we booked. this was not mentioned when booking. very disappointing.

Overall, the stay was fine. We enjoyed the location but the room needs serious updating and the bathroom was dirty.

We enjoyed the view from the terrace and during our dinner. Dinner was good and the staff was very friendly/accommodating.

The bathroom was dirty and hair was remaining from the previous guest (including on our towels). The decoration and bedding was outdated and slightly uncomfortable.

Good for a short stay

The staff was great and willing to accommodate the change of plans. The hotel is in a very quiet place.

The room is rather basic. Wellness facilities are at extra charge, need to be booked in advance and no children are allowed. I realised it after booking, so was not able to try it. The restaurant was not as good as the other reviews are suggesting. Overall, the description on the web-site gives you more expectations than what it really is.

In general we enjoyed it.

The view from the room was amazing, we watched the sunset. :) . The dinner was special, also the breakfast was great. We love the service, the atmosphere, the garden and the silence in the morning.

The fact that pool access is very expensive, 10 eur per person , so we did not visit . Also the check out is at 10 am, so we could not enjoy the pool if we decide to go as we had to check out at 10 am in Sunday.

Nice but could be great.

They gave us a considerable upgrade at no extra cost to an end room in the old building with a balcony. Also the restauant food is really excellent and the breakfast a great value.

The whole spa was closed. I imagine if it were open I'd be giving this place rave reviews. However no key to get in late and the old folks at the desk wait up for you. Makes you feel like its your parents insisting you get home by midnight. Also they won't let you sit outside after you return at 12. They really have to provide keys to allow guests to get in late or to enjoy the outside patio as late as wanted. Silly not to.

Untruthful advertisment

Staff, location and breakfast were good.

We were highly disappointed over a few things listed below: -2 star room's bathroom Our room's bathroom was far from 4 star standard. The toiled didn't even have a toilet paper holder and the shower had an old shower curtain. Pictures are attached to the comment. - One terrace only available The second terrace (the one with a jacuzzi) was closed due Covid but this wasn't stated anywhere online and we didn't have any other place to enjoy our drinks because the wedding took the whole main terrace and we were left with only a few tables next to the castle with zero views from the terrace as promised from the photos. - Wedding over hotel guests We couldn't reserve a table with a lovely terrace view for dinner because the whole terrace was booked for the wedding. We couldn't use the main and only terrace and could only get a table in the very back of the pebble ground area next to the castle. They could at least let the guests have the second terrace in this case (that we expected to have when booking this place) -Spa& Wellness isn't included it is stated on the website that this activity isn't included but just as a heads-up, it will cost you 29€/per person for one afternoon for 2 saunas, 1 swimming pool and 2 jaccuzi's. -Small note wasn't included We were celebrating our anniversary and I kindly asked on the booking form if they could place a small note on the table for my partner and they confirmed yet there was nothing on the table upon our arrival. It was a bit special and I counted on them as they confirmed my request which left me a bit disappointed.

Old charm hotel in historic location - ideal for families and couples

Nice hotel located in historic place with amazing view on the valley and Alps. Excellent restaurant offers menu prepared from fresh, local ingredients at the highest culinary level at reasonable prices. Ideal place to short rest or longer stay to explore local attractions and wineries.
