Location and the cleaning staff are the only good thing I could say about this place.

Everything. Room stunk of mold, the bathrooms were unclean and had a permanent pee smell. Found bugs in my juice during our one and only breakfast there.

GREAT LOCATION, NICE ACCOMMODATION

My villa was absurdly spacious (solo travel), which I absolutely loved. I loved the fact that they are a green facility and A++++ for having a water dispenser, which saves on buying bottled water! Location A+++ (especially to airport) Staff were very friendly and helpful.

While the villa is amazing, one thing to note; should it rain during your stay, be VERY careful when entering/exiting your villa as the stone can be slippery (unfortunately I did slip and fall after unlocking the door awaiting room service-fortunately not seriously hurt).

This place is centrally located and close to everything including Bintang supermarket. This is our third stay and definitely won’t be our last. The staff are amazing and rooms are perfect!!

Overall, a disappointing experience

Good location & nice size room

We did not find the room clean - the floors had spots on them, there were dead ants on the glass wall in the bathroom, handprints on the bathroom walls, and we found oil on the kitchen counter that we wiped as soon as we arrived not to have it ruin our items. We did let the front desk know about these concerns, and although they assured us it would be cleaned, we didn’t notice a change the following day. We also found our sheets to be stained and one of our pillows smelled like alcohol. Breakfast was included but it was nothing special. Finally, when we checked out, we were asked to wait 5-10 minutes because they had to check the room - we were told it’s to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind, but we had already done that ourselves. That was weird and not common practice.

The location is great. Easy walking to the beach, shopping and restaurants

My first negative review unfortunately. From the moment we walked into the courtyard we realised we were going to be disappointed. Middle of the day and we weren't getting any sun on the pool; large glass sliders were difficult to open & lock; the tile floors had a greasy film on them (my partner slipped over & hurt his knee within the first two hours); there was a septic smell permeating through the villa; the bidet sprayer had faeces on it and we had to request someone to clean it; the bathroom wall tiles had the same greasy film on them (enough for a game of tic tac toe); the advertised 'kitchen' had no glasses, plates or cutlery. There was however a drying up cloth but this was so stained you wouldn't use it (when I took it to reception they said it was a rag and must have been put there by mistake, but it was ironed and folded up nicely in the kitchen drawer, so I don't think it was a mistake). Overall the resort is looking very tired and in need of maintenance and upgrades. We were told when we checked in that the owner of the resort wasn't spending any money after the losses he endured during the COVID pandemic. This doesn't mean however that the cleanliness should suffer. After our first night we advised reception we were leaving. They did offer us an upgrade to another villa, but when we looked at that it too had the same septic smell and greasy tiles so we declined. The manager at reception said that they would refund us three nights, which we didn't expect but were very grateful for. Fast forward seven weeks and the promised refund has not been received, and my messages go unanswered. I actually phoned and was told that their Finance department was still working on it (I won't hold my breath). I contacted Customer Service at Booking.com and they tried to get an answer to no avail. They said that they couldn't do anything because we paid the resort, instead of paying through Booking.com.

The property was great. Our two bedroom Villa was very clean and spacious. Yes there were some things that could do with some maintenance but we loved the villa and the private pool. The location was fantastic and even though on a main road, the accommodation was quiet. The staff were absolutely amazing.

A nice villa with good location

The villa is spacious and stylish with nice clean pool with sun beds. The staff at breakfast was excellent and professional, thank you. Good breakfast. Nice bed!

The villa has a little kitchen but had to ask for glass and set of plate. No minibar. I stayed long time in villa and asked for a late check for few hours last day but had to pay expensive for that so I skipped. The security sometimes not professional when I had friend visiting making me feel this is a place for couples only. When arriving I got first question from butler if I was married. The shower head not working properly.

The property was old, but clean. The customer service was exceptional. It was peaceful and secure.

The property needs to be upgraded as it is old. (Room keys to be electronic for example). The menu needs to be itemised rather than themed by country to provide more variety and more on the menu.

Everyday same breakfast menu. Some time of the day water not hot enough for bath. Got stove but no pots. Not much privacy, opposite level 2 unit can look into our villa. Our villa can enter without using key 😰 by pulling the glass panel can open and enter even when locked

Great destination, comfortable furniture, very quiet and private. We recommend highly for Sun Island Boutique villa and spa.

Whilst the pool is on the small side for our room, it was enough and did the job if you want to dip your feet in or relax in the pool. if you want to swim or wanted a lot of space in the pool, use the big pool at the restaurant.

Smelly and unpleasant

The staff were nice and the villa was large. the bed was comfortable enough.

The smell of mould and rising damp was overwhelming. Opening doors to air it out didn’t help and just let mosquitos in. The floors had been cleaned with something greasy making them slippery and dangerous. We stayed two nights and if we hadn’t prepaid would’ve left after 1. On night 2, a bit of plaster fell out of the ceiling next to the air conditioner which then dripped on my side of the bed all night. The receptionist on hearing this at check out just said “ok”…!!!! I didn’t ask or need a refund but not even to apologise? That is very bad form. I really hope they have fixed this issue as that could indicate a structural problem with the air con leaking into the roof that it is secured into making it unsafe. Breakfast was exceptionally basic and the private pool was mostly in shade all day adding to the overall dank and damp feel. I feel sad giving a bad review to any place however there are health and safety issues here that go beyond just unclean or over priced accomodation.

This place has everything you could wish for with great staff. The suite was large and comfortable, with a private pool. The breakfast is excellent Next to the famous road in seminyak, which contains restaurants and cafes
