The Moorings Hotel & Seafood Restaurant

Loved the location. We had tickets for a Landing Tour on Skellig Michael, but that was cancelled due to the weather. Portmagee turned out to be a great stop on our Ring of Kerry adventure, and with the cancelled boat trip we had extra time to explore the Skellig Ring which was wonderful. Communication with staff was excellent. Super responsive to several questions I had ahead of our arrival. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

We were disappointed that the restaurant didn't have as many fresh fish options as we had hoped. With the location by the sea, we were expecting we would have a number of dinner options which were different varieties of fresh fish, but that was not the case. Also, the communication between wait staff and the kitchen was not great. There were seven of us and five out of the seven had to get follow up corrections to what was brought to the table because the food did not match the menu description. The food was good - just need some improvements on communication and menu.

Fantastic place to stay, a very warm welcome and brilliant accommodation. Absolutely spotless room and gorgeous food - highly recommended. There was a football team celebration and music, but we didn’t hear a thing! Loved it.

Absolutely perfect, no complaints!

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel feels like the perfect base for exploring Portmagee and the surrounding area. Our room was spacious, comfortable and had lovely views over the harbour. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and the breakfast was very good. A special mention goes to the pub downstairs—it had a fantastic atmosphere and served excellent food. Overall, a very enjoyable stay, and we'd happily return.
