One of the best hostels I've ever been to! Large shared facilities, including an outdoor area with fireplace and hot tub. Beds were comfortable and gave a lot of privacy.
The kitchen is quite small, including the eating area that may be difficult to manage at busy times. There could be more toilets

Wow, what a place. Visited so many hostels in several US states. But Ember in Denver was definately my favorite. Beautiful old, spacious building with traditional furniture and atmosphere. Spacious common area inside and outside. Whirlpool and camp fire outside. Friendly, helpful staff, fast WiFi, easy to get in contact with other guests. Quiet location but still in the heart of Denver

Great facilities
As a solo female traveller they didn’t have my bed ready so I was asked to sleep in a mixed dorm with one other male. I said yes I was ok with this as I was trying not to cause inconvenience, but I should have said no, so this is partially my fault. Anyway I spent the night not really sleeping as my roommate got back to the room late after a party and it made me feel quite uncomfortable that it was just us in the room and my roommate was under the influence of something. I’m sure I was perfectly safe, but at the same time I think it was unfair to put me in this situation when I had paid additional for a female only room. I think it should be made clear to the staff that they should not ask a female to compromise if they have specifically requested a female room.
