It was with great anticipation that we rented the Classic or Vintage Cayucos Beach House. It was retro in appearance, but we thought it would be well appointed. Making arrangements was simple, and the address was provided when stipulated. It was also specified as to when the lock box code would be provided. DATE The code for the lock box was not sent until after 8 pm. It was supposed to have been provided at 10 am. We arrived in Cayucos after dark and had a difficult time finding the house. There were no street lights or lights on in the home. We called the local Vacusa representative. They immediately responded and sent a person the property – within 10 minutes. At least Motel Six leaves a light on… The home was cleaned beyond perfection, but it didn’t account for the shabbiness. The master-bedroom bedspread looked like it was used as a cat scratching post. There were cigarette burns on the area rugs and on the upholstered furniture. The TV in the first sitting room was vintage and if you did know to turn it on to watch the playoffs…there were no directions. This applied to all three TV’s in the house; there were no directions for anything. Thankfully we weren’t there to watch TV. It also would have been nice to have more than five hangers in the house. The door leading to the second sitting area/dining, which originally was intended as the main entrance, was rusted shut. The biggest concern was in the third sitting room. The door leading to the patio was broken and was un-securable. See attached photos. We called and they were going to schedule a locksmith for repairs. We did not want to be encumbered with having a locksmith trying to fix the door. We declined having the locksmith and secured the door. We love Cayucos and will return again, but not to Classic/Vintage Waterfront Beach House.

General maintenance could be improved and patio furniture was inferior. No shade or umbrella on patio. Went out and bought our own to be able to enjoy the fabulous patio view.good but could have been better for the price.
