Villa Lorena

Sehr schöner Ort! Mein Apartment im oberen Stock des kleineren Hauses war ausreichend groß, auch noch zu viert, mit einer phantastischen!! Terrasse, auf der anderen Seite des Hauses ein parkartiger Garten. Sehr schöner Weg durch den Garten zum großen Pool m Park, mit vielen Schirmen und Liegenringsum.. Man geht am großen Haus vorbei, dem ehemaligen Familienwohnsitz, dessen Ausstattung wirklich top ist, allerdings mit 4 Schlafzimmern und 6 Bädern für mehrere Personen geeignet, die man dann am Pool auch treffen kann. Es war aber sehr angenehm und entspannt. Ich kann alles sehr empfehlen, die sehr nette und dezente Besitzerin Lorena, die auch dort wohnt, hilft bei Fragen und kennt Montepulciano und die Umgebung sehr gut. Zu erreichen ist dieser Ort unterhalb von Montepulciano auch zu Fuß, ca 25 Minuten vom großen Platz ganz oben in der Stadt bis dahin. Der beginnende Wald unten ist dann angenehm kühl. Man kann auch das Auto beim Busbahnhof in der Nähe parken und mit dem halbstündigen fahrenden kleinen Stadtbus nach oben in die Altstadt fahren. Ich werde wieder kommen und von dort aus die Toskana weiter besichtigen, zu den heißen Quellen fahren oder einfach baden und grillen und baden. Oder die kulturellen Veranstaltungen des Cantiere besuchen.

Man ist nie vor herumwandernden Dieben sicher , aber das ist überall so.

Our family of 4 loved Villa Lorena. The pool was a big bonus to soak up the Tuscan lifestyle. We loved the traditional but comfortable furniture. Lovely Host, very welcoming and by the end of our stay we spoke each others language 🩷

The location would be great for a medium stay so you can settle in. It's rustic, local, dated but that's probably part of the charm. We were in a separate building away from the main property where other guests were staying - and they had amazing views. Our views were blocked by overgrown gardens on what would no doubt have been a superb view. This is a great location if you want to be remote and relax in nature. The property has a nice pool with sun loungers, chairs and Parasols - all be it they have seen better times. The owner was charming ion her own way but as we didn't speak any Italian (I know, we are in Italy and so shoulder the blame for this one) trying to check in - late at night was super challenging, particularly as she wasn't aware that we had booked (last minute). The property is 5-10 mins drive maximum from Montepuliciano.

This was a last minute booking due to our apartment in Montepulciano suffering a flood when we arrived so we booked this after 8pm on a Saturday - so for a small residential business its unsurprising that the booking wasn't received by the property so when we arrived (and finding the. place wasn't easy in the dark) the owner was in bed - I don't have an issue with that. It was last minute so I found it to be over priced for what it was - but beggars can't be choosers. The nightly fee of €140 was steep but the additional €100 cleaning fee is over the top - maybe €10/night would be fairer. We left the place as we found so apart form chaining beds and obviously change towels in the bathroom (btw the shower doesn't drain well so needs to be sorted - probably clogged with hair...). So, overall an overpriced stay in an average location,
