The hotel is historically very interesting. It's also very well maintained, and amenities are excellent. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The history is the most charming part, of course. The walls are filled with historic photos, and interesting background on all of the surrounding area. If you are a history buff at all, it's definitely worth it. If you just want to get sleep for the night, the challenge is that the floor above you has no soundproofing at all. On my particular stay, whoever was in the apartment or room above me must have paced back and forth on the floor for at least 3 hours non-stop, with every footfall echoing like a tympanic membrane. So sleep was a challenge. But everything else about the place is very nice. And again, if you are a history buff, it's really wonderful.

I’ve travelled around the world, so have seen my share of hotels! This one was well located and tidy, but it just smelled bad, a definitely moldy/musty kind of smell.
No hairdryer, had to call and request one. Also, while there a couple of plug points around the a/c unit, door etc, there was nothing close to the bed. If you’re used to charging your device close by your bed so you can check the time, or get notifications or shine a flashlight in an unfamiliar room, the only way to do that is to pull the bed forward leaving a gap with the wall (which is what I had to do!). No headboard.
While I understand the age of the unit, there’s no reason the rooms can’t smell fresh or clean, or why they couldn’t install an extension cord here or there. There was a wallflower perfume fixture plugged into a wall, which could have been helpful but it was running on empty.
