We had a great stay and could tell that the owners really took pride in their establishment.

The staff were friendly and attentive. The location was walkable to the train station, college campus, and Pay Pal Park. The grounds were well maintained. The shower was great with plenty of hot water.

I didn't see any water stations for filling up our bottles and would have enjoyed a coffee maker. Also, we would have liked a box of Kleenex to be provided.

A lovely week in Santa Clara.

Exactly what was expected. Relatively bare-bones, but this is what I was looking for. The family that runs the place is so nice, and the room and premises are kept very clean.

It's not fancy, so if you want that, it isn't for you.

Close to the airport, plentiful parking and nice clean and comfortable room with friendly staff. Check in and out was very easy.

You get what you pay for. In this case, it was much better than I expected.

The manager and staff were great. For an older, two story motel, it was nicely restored. it was very close to my granddaughter‘s dorm at SCU.

There was no coffee machine in the room or tissue and the soap was not a good quality.

Simple but comfortable stay

The location was great, right on a main road w/ many restaurants/ shops nearby. There was always parking available. The bed and pillows were comfy. The heater/ A/C worked well. There was good water pressure and the hot water was plentiful. The Filipino manager and his staff were very friendly. There is no ice machine but the manager had already prepared bags of ice for the guests :)

They don't offer "Do Not Disturb" signs to notify housekeeping if you don't want your room cleaned. The sink is set too far back and so you end up wetting the bathroom counter a lot. The shower head seemed quite old and many of the holes were clogged up w/ calcium. (Housekeeping should inspect it while cleaning).

Our room was spacious, clean and serene....Great location for the airport/ plenty of dining options.

The Inn was easy to reach, and parking was convenient. The owner was a pleasant gentleman and happy to offer suggestions upon request for dining, etc.

My only suggestion is to add a comfortable club chair, though I understand there are good reasons not to.

I would definitely stay here again.

Very spacious, clean room. Large bathroom with a nice large shower. The room has nice, updated furniture. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Great location.

Perfect location for an overnight stay if you’re attending an event at SAP Center.

Ed in the office remembered me from our last stay. Clean, comfortable, and the 22 route bus stop was across the street so we took it to SAP Center for the game. Domino’s Pizza and coffee shop across the street.

Good Motel with bus connection and friendly owner

Very friendly owner that liked to chat with us and gave us a secure feeling in that maybe not so secure area of San José. Rooms are spacious and clean. Big fridge, which is always nice to have. Overall a good motel for a reasonable price. Free parking in the very front of the room and good bus connection to the city of San Jose.

Only issue was that angle of the bathroom floor did not allow the water from the shower to drain. Instead it flooded the whole bathroom so you were standing in a puddle of water after showering. Even the shower carpet did not help anything. Therefore there was also some mold in the bathroom's corners. (We had the last room in the ground floor close to the stairs)

Friendly reception person. Liked having 2 queen beds -- room was spacious; helpful to have a desk area. Mattresses were comfortable but not firm enough.

Room and bath area need updating -- eg, old a/c unit is noisy; shower basin needs new grout. Soap dispenser for bath counter would be nice.

We only stayed there one night, as we were travelling, but it was a very nice place to stay.

The room was very clean and well kept. the bed was very comfortable, and everything exceeded our expectations. Ed who manages the place was very cordial, caring, and pleasant to talk to as was his Grandson Danniel. We reallt enjoyed both of them. We would definitely stay there again.

This is my third time staying here. It's always lovely. The staff, especially the manager, is excellent. The manager's grandson is also a helpful assistant.

Location near Santa Clara University, cleanliness and value are exceptional.

Owner will let you know how much trouble it is to accommodate your request and much money he is losing if you ask anything in addition to your originally booked room (e.g. towels, change rooms, extra parking space etc..) Towels are not plush. No coffee or tea offered.

Great place to flake out after a long flight and if you don’t have a car.

Great manager so helpful and location 10 mins drive from San Jose airport and 10 mins walk from Santa Clara train station. Close to Santa Clara University. Good food half a block away or just across the street. Microwave and fridge if you want to feed yourself, but I didn’t have a car so no grocery shopping. Good bus service on The Alameda in front of the motel.

I’m a Brit so used to a kettle and teabags in a room but that’s about all I didn’t like!

Great stay for the value!

Sterling Inn was clean, conveniently located, and the room was well appointed. Appreciated the fridge and microwave and the room felt large. Staff was kind and personable. Within easy walking distance of a grocery store and numerous food options which was great too!

First floor, close to parking is a plus, but noise from above floor wake u up early. Tap water is not recommended for consumption, not a good sign. 3 small bottle water were provided for 2 nights.

a good unknow place

The location of the accommodation was superb. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. A Safeway store was conveniently located within a short 2-3 minute walk. Moreover, the staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to assist. Additionally, the place had some fruit trees, such as lemons, oranges, and persimmons, that guests could enjoy looking at.

If I had to pick one thing, the air conditioner was a little loud. It might vary based on your sensitivity.
