El Morocco Inn & Spa

the decor was charming, the layout fun. the pool was lovely, not too hot not too cold, the spa bath was deliciously hot and under cover. we liked the continuous playing of Casablanca, though we never actually watched it all the way through. we did use the tiny saunas but the weather was too warm to really want to sit in a sauna. we liked the little garden as well, sitting under the shade of the trees. we liked the iced water and iced lemon tea (Humphrey Bogart) that one could help oneself to any time, ditto tea and coffee though we have any apart from breakfast.

the breakfast, put out for one to have when one felt like it was nice but the offering was a bit disappointing and it was unclear if the "extras" were part of it or in addition

I loved the thematic decor, the mineral pool, the hot tub, the outdoor shower, the French press coffee, and the large bedroom. The staff members were all lovely. This is a gem of a place.

It is aging and the staircase up to the 2nd floor shows it. The floors are creaky.

Loved the mineral pools. Quiet restful atmosphere and very helpful staff.

Lighting in the rooms a little dim

Beautiful adults-only hotel. Quiet and intimate. Very relaxing. Quirky in fun ways. The main pool was 90 degrees and was extremely comfortable to step into. Hot tub was nice. All facilities were open 24hrs. They have french press coffee and tea available 24hrs as well as a mint lemonade.

The steam room, infrared sauna, and regular dry sauna were all in deep need of repair. Really they need to be replaced. The handles were broken, some with sharp edges. The doors to the sauna would not stay shut. They were very small and only could fit 2 people. Each of the systems were unnecessarily complex to use and outdated. The saunas are like a small box stuck on the ground, not a dedicated room that was built for the sauna. Breakfast is not continental or buffet as you might expect, but a lunch sack that you get from the fridge. Someone took our breakfast by accident but the staff were happy to replace ours. If you're thinking that breakfast will be a value-add, it's worth $5-7 at most. There's no food on site, which is fine. You'll rely on food delivery for dinner. Would be nice for them to update the takeout menus that they have available (outdated).
