Eept for a few fixes the stay was fine.

It was fine. The breakfast staff were fantastic! The front desk staff were phenomenal.

The sign advertising burgers and fries in the elevator needs to be taken down. Not applicable to that location. On the second floor the area where the ice machine is says ice and vending. Vending not available there . Sign needs to be redone. The green room magnet kept falling off the door.

Overall good hotel

Room was very clean and spacious. The only issue was that the toilet could've been cleaner, but outside of that, the entire room seemed like it was clean and no issues. Location is good with two good places (Eureka and Carlsbad Brewing Co) to eat and drink right across the way. Also, Trader Joe's and Sprouts are very close too.

Restroom could've used more closer attention to cleaning.

Spacious Room, Great Water Pressure, Comfortable Bed, Clean Room, Complementary Coffee in the Lobby, Friendly Staff, USB Ports readily available in the Room. Did not use any of the other amenities because we were out and about most of the time.

A/C made noise all night but kept room cool. The plug in the bathroom didnt work, so I had to dry my hair in the room without a mirror. The shower whistled while on (but we liked the pressure, so this is a small thing). Kids very, very noisy in the lobby and they would run up and down the hallway of the third floor where our room was located. Must have been a pre-teen convention going on somewhere.

Recommended for good value stay

Great facilities (gym, heated pool, laundry, other stuff), nice room, good shower. We arrived 3 hours early and got a room which was an unexpected bonus. Within 5-10 min walk of restaurants, Trader Joes etc. Handy to Legoland (10 min car ride). Handy to the suites next next door where we had family staying.

Breakfast was fine but not great for the price. We would have preferred a full self-service set up.

Perfect for families

Most of the staff were genuinely welcoming and always smiling, which made the experience even better. The kids’ entertainment options were great and kept them happy throughout the stay. The whole property felt fresh, clean, and well-maintained.

The rooms would be more convenient with an electric kettle. Also, if you’re planning to visit popular San Diego spots like the zoo, the hotel is a bit far — about a 45-minute drive each way but that is not their fault just heads up.

Things happen so we don’t really blame them it was just inconvenient .

It was quiet on the weekend as it looks to be in a business park area .

Not walking distance to things like a bagel shop or other type of restaurants . But still ok. We had a toilet issue and just before we had to leave for a function we were told we needed to change rooms . The staff was very friendly and nice tho and moved our stuff for us after we repacked as we had to leave before we could move it and they found a room close to the one we originally had .

All the staff was super nice! It’s a great location, near to everything you need. Breakfast was very good! The food in general was great. Great bed and pillows. Very clean and comfortable.

Very pleasant, staff was generally kind, and it was very clean.

Breakfast was well served, and had a good variety. The amenities were well kept and clean. The staff was mostly friendly and kind, and the cleanliness of the hotel was very much appreciated.

One staff member was very rude to my family when we were trying to socialize in the restaurant area after the restaurant had closed. The area was not closed off, but she wouldn't allow us to move chairs so we could talk out of the way of the lobby or halls. There were other guests in the restaurant area, but because we didn't order she was very rude and didn't ask us if we wanted anything either.

The ironing board in room 3047 is terrible. Super small and flimpsy. We were surprised that the eooms do not have a safe.

The bed was comfortable. The room had sufficient accommodations. The blackout curtains really are blackout curtains. It’s walking distance to stores and restaurants. GREAT staff.

This is a popular destination for soccer teams as there are many soccer tournaments near here. There was a kid playing soccer in the room above us for hours- Saturday night until 1:00 am, and starting again at 7:30 am Sunday morning. We complained, but it continued. Soccer teams should not be in rooms near other guests. Also, there was a bunch of long black hair in the shower when we arrived. It didn’t appear to have been cleaned. And the bathroom floor was dirty.

It doesn’t advertise to be close to the beach but we didn’t know the area at all so it was a 15 minute drive to the beach. Not the hotel’s fault!! A little spendy for the location.

On my next business trip, I would definitely come back to Holiday Inn Carlsbad/San Diego IHG.

Parking was plentiful and easy to park close to the entrance. I had a spacious and well-appointed room with a nice king size bed (4 pillows), nightstands on both sides of the bed, a chest of drawers (3 drawers), a comfortable couch that converts into a bed, a desk, a couple of chairs, lots of well-placed light fixtures and a refrigerator. The closet was enormous and came with 8 normal clothes hangers. I enjoyed walking around the very large common courtyard area with lots of options to play outdoor games with friends and children. They had basketball courts, putting green, cornhole toss, archery with safe, soft Velcro arrows, and swimming to name a few. The dining area overlooked the courtyard and offered outdoor dining options. I prepaid for my breakfast, and it was delicious and plentiful. I was offered eggs over easy but declined. Plenty to do and see here in Carlsbad to keep you entertained and active.

The hotel was currently being renovated, and was not as inviting with painting and construction, but it was quiet. My room was nice, but I found the floor to be slightly dirty, after noticing my bare feet were dirty when I walked into the shower and found the dirt to be coming off once the feet were rinsed. I would have preferred a shower/tub combo in the bathroom. A printed channel guide for the TV networks would have been nice instead of relying on the onscreen guide from the cable provider. My bed was comfortable but found it hard to fall asleep when away from home.

This stay was one of the best stays I ever had.

The breakfast was great! The oatmeal was cooked just right, I had seconds. We stayed 3 nights and 4days, I had oatmeal everyday. The eggs were real not powdered, the bacon was cooked just right the potatos were mixed with bell peppers & onions. The table service was great!! I loved the set up. I paid for two rooms, they were very clean and I am a picky person. The staff was nice. Patty was nice and everybody else.

The pool had leaves and a few dead insects but I still swam. It would have been nice to have a net out there to get stuff out. The jacuzzi was a bit soiled. I didn't get in it. I would have loved to though. The location was off the beaten path, but I still loved my stay.

Front desk unpleasant at check out!

The waitress at the restaurant in the morning was very hospitable. I let her know I was eating my complimentary breakfast in my room and she prepared my drinks for my children and myself.

I asked for blankets and pillows for the pull out sofa bed. Had to call 4 times to see where the blankets and pillows were. Next the front desk said it was delivered. Had to call again and waited a total of over an hour. The house keeper stated she had delivered it to a young boy when my children were not old enough to open the doors. When checking out the front desk wanted me to pay and additional 212$ after my “authorization payment” was taken out at the time of check out. The front desk was speaking to me as if I was illiterate.

Not worth the stay. The location was odd and not a hotel I would recommend.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The pool was big and front desk person named Patricia was a blessing. She was a complete sweetheart, remembered who I was and did whatever she could to assist me. If it weren't for Patricia my stay there would have been a disaster.

The location and food options were a deciding factor to leave. With a $400 a night average and my last night being over $500 I found it not worth it to stay our last night. I was extremely grateful the manager allowing our family to cut our stay one day shorter without penalty. I stayed at another hotel for that night at half the price and I was given complementary breakfast that was just as comforting as the kitchen food served at your hotel. My service for dinner on Friday night was not a pleasant experience. I saw other customers placing orders before me from their table even though I was there first, and I had to get up to order from the bar because the server never came back to my table after giving me a menu. My 8 year old daughter made a comment about finally when the drinks were coming. For the price a guest pays at the hotel, I would imagine there would be more staff to tend to the kitchen. There were four total parties at the restaurant.

A very nice hotel with exceptionally friendly staff

Good location, and nice and clean rooms. What made our stay memorable was the hotel manager Geoffrey, who checked us in and went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed
