It's pretty awesome that it's a non-smoking hotel, so there's not really any nasty lingering smell, etc, like some chains who "changed" to non-smoking. Wish it was a little bit more affordable/cheaper but overall it had an awesome shower and nice king size bed and TV.

Well someone tried to sneak in a smoke in my room because the windows screens corner was busted out and the mini fridge was missing its knob so there was no way of adjusting the temperature which drives me crazy because I like my drinks as cold as possible as fast as possible. Also really didn't like that the check in time was 3 pm I booked at noon and needed a shower and it was going to cost another 25 dollar early book in fee so I went down the road to my planet fitness and showered there instead. To top it off the checkout was noon and we had the maid service trying to come into our room shortly after 11 am around 11:20 while we were packing up. If we didn't have the external lock so the door can't open all the way the maids might have seen more than they wanted to is all I'll say because we took one more shower before packing up and leaving.. They should have a system in place so they know which rooms are checked out and ready etc.

Our room was completely updated

It was under construction. There were water marks in the ceiling in the dining area. The stairs were taped off with caution tape. The front desk was half wallpaper and half spackle. The toaster was broken. The pancake machine was broken. The eggs were cold and even the cereal dispenser malfunctioned and dumped cereal all over the place. The window screen in our room was torn, there was nicotine drips and staining on the smoke detector in our room, and they didn’t have enough parking spaces for the number of guests. I had to park at Taco Bell. The man on night shift at the desk was like speaking to a brick wall, and the older lady in the morning was rude on the phone, (pleasant to your face though). The two younger ladies there tried their best, were friendly and tried to be helpful. We stayed for 3 nights and had to repeatedly have our key cards reactivated. It’s a relatively clean place to stay, but they need quite a bit of work to be worth more than $100/night.

Not much

The mini fridge was leaking water all over our floor and even after informing them on day one and being told someone would come fix it they never did. Just gave us a couple extra towels to put on the floor and left us unattended for 3 days with soggy towels and a fridge that didn’t work. Half the breakfast “buffet” was out of order, there were half eaten biscuits put back in the serving tray, and it’s noisy all through the night.

The woman behind the check-in counter was warm and welcoming. She explained that Wingate had purchased this hotel from Country Inn & Suites and that the hotel was under renovation. She was very reassuring that the rooms (at least many of them) had been renovation and that we'd be happy with our stay. Our entire price for one night that included all taxes and fees was less than $130, so Wingate was discounting for the less-than-stellar condition of the overall hotel.

When we drove up, I had a sinking feeling when I saw that the sign on the building seemed to be hung over a sign for a different hotel brand. We've had too many experiences with booking hotels based on trusted hotel brands but discovering that the hotels had been sold to independents who provide sub-par accommodations and guest services. That bad feeling wasn't helped as we walked into the hotel lobby that was clearly under construction. The staircase was sealed off by caution tape, and the breakfast area room to the side featured 1970s decor that clearly wasn't under renovation. As far as the rooms, I'm not so sure renovations are complete. Actually, I hope they are not. The flooring is not carpet; it's linoleum. The bed was an IKEA type of metal bed frame. The furniture really looked cheap. The mattress was okay but not nearly as comfortable as we expected from a Wingate. The pillows were not okay. If bedding was new, I would not have expected the lumpy pillows provided. Most importantly, the bedding was merely a flat sheet, a top sheet, and then a "bedspread" that had the feel of another sheet -- super thin. There was no blanket. Also, AC was an issue. We entered the room that had no AC on. It was warm and muggy. We turned on the AC full blast and went to dinner. When we returned about an hour later, the room was cooler but definitely not cool. Basically, the room was fairly warm all night long. We were hoping breakfast would be better. Basically, everything was basic. The warm foods didn't look very appetizing. When I opted for cereal, the twist mechanism to turn to get cereal out of the dispenser didn't work. I ended up taking the dispenser off the stand, removing the lid, and pouring cereal form there. Toast seemed like a safe bet until I saw the sign on the toaster that indicated users had to hold down the lever for it to work. And, the OJ tasted like soap.

Lobby was under construction, the floor all tore up down to the cement. There was no signage about the construction before you walked in.

Nothing. ABSOLUTELY NOT SUITABLE TO STAY HERE.

The parking lot and hotel smelled like marijuana and there was broken glass in the entryway. I called to cancel and was told on the phone I would be refunded because the accommodations weren’t suitable for a family. 3 weeks later- no refund and booking.com cannot even get the hotel to reply to them to issue it. The staff agreed and understood my concerns when calling and said I could cancel and be refunded but never honored that. I’m very upset to have them steal my money.

Renovated room.

But already rust on the shower. I’ve asked if the pool was open prior to my stay with no response. I arrived at the hotel to find it to be a complete construction site. A heads up would’ve been nice. For most of the staff every question seemed too much.

Location

The gym is closed, the pool is closed, the entire property is under renovation with jack hammers blasting the floors out during the weekend. There was no notice this property was under construction . The hot water doesn’t work after 3pm , it was noisy, the stairwells stink, the landscaping (or lack of) smells like mold, the doors to the rooms slam shut so you hear every person entering or exiting a room on the entire floor you stay on and the rooms are tiny. This is currently a 1 star hotel at best and it cost nearly $600 for our stay. I would not recommend this hotel. Management did nothing to address our complaints. This property is falsely advertised. Be ware!

Was not told it was under restoration

My room smelled like someone had been smoking pot in the room.

It fit what I needed each morning. Location was ideal.

Floor in the room was horrendous- my feet/socks were black by walking on them. Towels were stained.

Overall it was a great stay.

I didn’t like being charged $100 for pet fees and then the pool and workout room. We’re under renovation and we couldn’t use them. There was no compensation given back for not being able to use the major part of the facility.

Require a 250$ cash deposit because I’m local. But nothing told me that before booking. So, they rejected a homeless guy on a night when he needed it most. Great job.

My flight was delayed and I called the front desk, and was told I could check in and have the room until noon. When we arrived we were RUDELY turned away. Never again

Booked a king room, placed in a double queen. When asked to be appropriately roomed, met some initial resistance, but eventually moved to a king which happened to be a suite. Clean, nice bed. No housekeeping despite 3 night stay, but that seems to be the norm now.

No pool- down for renovations. No wifi in rooms- due to renovations. No mention of either before booking. Dirty wash clothes left on shower from a previous guest. Curtains would not shut all the way. The coffee pot in the room was broken.

Breakfast was good. Location was convenient. Outside of the building was appealing.

Carpet appeared to be old though out the hotel. Overall the interior seemed run down.

Convenience to Highway

Place needs a complete overhaul. Curtains falling off, don’t close for privacy. Air conditioner adjustments didn’t work. Bathroom fan didn’t work. Holes in the wall. Carpet is worn out

Location was great. We were going to the Mansfield prison for the day.

When we arrived we were told there was no hot water and didnt know when and if it would be back on. Told us we could sit in the lobby and try to find another place to stay. We decided to stay. Manager did discout are rate. Hot water never came on.

Pool was closed, no internet, blood on bathroom floor, we had to play plumber all night just to use the toilet and remote to tv was broken and we could only watch 3 channels. Was very disappointed the breakfast. I don’t usually have issues with a Wyndham but this was more than disappointing and disgusting. The evening staff was non-committal when informed of the issues as soon as we got to the room. He just said he would let someone know in the morning when we checked out. But he wasn’t even there at checkout.

Chenel was awesome, she was so personable with us we would come back to stay. All other employees were nice also, Chenel went above and beyond.

The bathroom and towels and washcloths had hair in it and on them. I understand not cleaning the rooms till guest leaves but the trash cans needed emptied.

great location

The location was good. Easily accessible and had food options close by.

When we arrived we found out the pool was closed, which my boys really wanted to use. The breakfast was, meh, not a lot of options and the "hot" food was barely warm. Our beds were clean but other parts of the room were dirty and gross (floor was stained, shower was scummy). The pillows are very soft and flat. We had 3 on each bed and one person needed all 3 to make it feel like you even had a pillow.

the breakfast was good and the staff was friendly but it’s in bad need of a refresh. also the soaps and shampoos were half empty indicating they had been used before. one of the beds was also missing a top sheet.

carpets were worn throughout and the whole place is very dated.
