The hostess is nice but there is no cook there for our breakfast. She had to prepare for ourselves! Breakfast was OK
The original host number was disconnected. I never received email about self check-in info even I booked back in October 2025. I had gone through a nearby shop to get help! And it was scary and not easy!

Very nice lady hosting guests. Home like furnitures and design inside the property. Very nice and friendly dog. Nice coffee. Well maintained garden.
Delay on check in and lack of contact prior to arrival from the host. No sink in the Bathrooms and no shelf’s for cosmetics inside as well, instead there is only one unit in the kitchen annex inside the room for the guest use.

The property was very well maintained, beautifully landscaped and generally quiet and away from main traffic. I was able to bring my dogs, since I was hoping to avoid fireworks in my home area about 40 minutes away, for just the one night. I think generally this is a good spot for a nice quiet night.
Unfortunately, being New Years Eve, and my room being connected to another guest's room, it was a fairly loud New Years Eve for me and my dogs due to the 4 guests next door and two very rambunctious teens. Kept the dogs and I up til 11:30 PM. The connecting wall was paper thin so every noise came through. The guests were letting off small fireworks but did stop when I asked them to do it somewhere else. So, it was not the peaceful night I hoped for, but not really the fault of the property/owners. However, I won't be going there again for peace and quiet.

Sue is a very attentive host, we were in a double room with the kids, great space. Liked the fridge/microwave options. It’s super close to the entrance of volcano NP also. We went back and forth for lunch/dinner. The common space is also very cozy.

Host very friendly. Excellent location
The walls are VERY thin = could hear everything going on in the other rooms. Occupants were not necessarily noisy, just having regular conversations.
No breakfast served on site on Sundays which was not communicated clearly - instead a coupon for $ 10 was given for the Lava Rock Café. There isn’t a single breakfast item on the llama Rock Cafe menu for $ 10. Everything on the menu is WELL over $ 10. Breakfast at the Lava Rock Café was good diner type food.
The stay at the property was already very pricey, having to go somewhere for breakfast AND then having to pay extra to even have breakfast is not great business practice. Particularly when the amazing breakfast served at the B&B is part of their marketing strategy.
Host is very nice.

The Aloha Junction B&B offers a stylish and charming accommodation in Volcano surrounded by nature. The room is spacious for two, reasonaly updated with a small incomplete kitchenette. (To make ramen, for example, I used the hot water from the Keurig.) The host was welcoming and gracious and the breakfast was nicely prepared and of high quality (freshly made banana pancakes with an array of syrup.) There are some very friendly dogs that will greet you as your car pulls up into the parking area.
The bed was comfortably firm as were the pillows. The shower had excellent pressure and water as hot as I needed it.
There is a chicken coup on property with roosters that went off at 3:12am exactly and did not shut up. I was told that the roosters are better behaved on some nights but this was not one of those nights.

Clean, great room, very comfy bed . Very close to Volcano park. Slept very well!
Quintan was an excellent host.
Room a little noisy as the walls were thin. Price was very high, but the only room available was a large room with 2 beds and 2 bathrooms.

Host very pleasant. Delicious breakfast. Grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Very quiet.
Bathroom was small, but not an issue since the purpose of our trip was to hike.

Quentin property manager very nice and loved the animals
We only stayed 2 out of 4 nights. I got wheezy almost immediately at property - I am sensitive to mold - I saw mold on fiberglass paneling on the roof and growing in the bathroom We decided it would be better to check out early and go to hotel in Hilo for rest of our stay. Anytime we have had to check out early we have not had to pay for days we didn't stay. Here the hotel does not refund your money. It is sad that this is the way they do business. This will cause bad karma for this property.

Each day the breakfast was unique and delicious. The room was spacious enough for my needs and very clean. I couldn’t ask for better location closer to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
Not much to say about negative things, at least from my side

The ambience of the place and the layout was nice. Size of the room was good. The garden was nice.
They create expectations with chef Q's omelette in communications they send after the reserve is made and he was not ready to make it nor transmitted any confidence in terms of him being good at it. No real options for breakfast. Breakfast was not good . Orange juice was Tampico! Second day there was no breakfast. Q was not around and it was clear we were staying two nights.
Cleanliness left to be desired. Had to clean the nightstands and the dog left poo on the porch of the room and it was there for the two days. Nobody cleaned it up.
No hot water in the morning - both days. When asked about it, the attitude of the attending person was not good. Any problem, call the owner. So what is he there for? At the very least it should be the attending figuring out what to do or calling the owner. The owner was nowhere to be found (tried calling several times). They have solar panels and it seems it is insufficient to get hot water in the mornings.
They did not make up our room in the morning.
For $350 - $400 a night not worth the money.

Access was easy, TV worked, great location, and snacks/breakfast in the fridge was a nice touch
The bedsheets didn't seem clean and it seems like one of the windows was missing a set of curtains so the room was very bright, we had to hang our own towels to block out the light. Also didn't have access to main kitchen

Room is clean; bed is comfortable
Bathroom shower is too small. More importantly, the water pressure of the shower is TOO weak. We were hoping to have a hot cooked breakfast, but everything was cold including pancakes

The room was perfect for us with two queen beds. Robert was a great cook and made a delicious breakfast each morning we were there. We got spoiled having coffee ready when we got up in the morning. The location was super close to Volcano National Park and an easy drive to Hilo. We appreciated the dining suggestions from Robert and Susan. They were very well organized and made sure our visit was pleasurable. We had great fun chatting with the other guests.
