Great location for Volcanoes National Park and comfortable
The place is very nice and clean at first view. The location near the entrance to volcanoes National Park is great! I like the layout of the house with 2 bedrooms complete with private bathrooms is nice. Hot tub was wonderful. The laundry facilities very nice and easy to use. It is a wonderful little cozy place that could use some improvements to make me want to rent again.
I hope i don't offend the owner because the home is really a wonderful place with great location for vnp and I can see how hard they have worked making it nice. But I'd love to see improvement with the following. The odor in the home is bad and permeates all your clothing. Any clothes hanging in the closets have to be washed to freshen up. The lighting in the kitchen and bathrooms is very poor. It is somewhat dangerous to climb into and out of the tub for showers. The strainer drains on tubs and sinks are stinky and likely contribute to home odor. No lighting over kitchen and bathroom sinks so very dark there. I dont like having to buy potable water off-site as water in the home not potable. It was inconvenient for me to take all my garbage to the local landfill. The gate lock needs a bit of lubricant as it's hard to dial the combination. The home has no central heating so can be cold at night in December. The portable heaters provided were helpful with that.

We loved staying at Anthurium Cottage! It was a quick trip for our family (coming from Maui), the cottage and grounds were honestly really magical. Soaking in the hot tub surrounded by the beautiful garden was such a treat. All of the little details in the home made it feel almost like a museum, just so many interesting things to read and look at. We felt really spoiled and really grateful. Mahalo!
It was a little dark, it could use some replaced light bulbs and/or brighter lamps. But it honestly wasn't that big of a deal.

The location was great, the grounds beautiful. The property was super clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. The hot tub was appreciated after a chilly day.
The Wi-Fi was frustrating, we kept having to log on even when we hadn’t left the house. However, the management was quick to respond and very helpful. Also suggest having more paper available to light the fire. There wasn’t enough to adequately heat the chimney and we had a problem with smoke. Otherwise, no complaints.
