The privacy
The “hot tub” was cold and it was cold outside. Very disappointed the room was cool too.

Close to volcano park
Beds marginally comfortable but WATER access terrible. No hot water. Drinking water provided yellow and full of sediment. Breakfast marginal.

The location is amazingly close to Volcanoes National Park.
Staff was very friendly, breakfast was delicious.
Upstairs breakfast room and common area for visiting, playing table games, cup of tea very pleasant.
Not for anyone with mobility challenges.
Primary guest rooms are all upstairs, additional rooms are in another two-story building on a well-lit stone path away from main building.

Very clean property about 2 miles from national park entrance. Our room had surround windows with green foliage all around. Breakfast fruit boats and banana bread were tasty.
A full flight of stairs to our room. This could be difficult to Han carry all luggage.

Amazing women who take care this beautiful place, we felt super safe and welcome.
It’s very peaceful and surrounded by a jungle like garden with walking paths.
Savoury options for breakfast would be amazing for hikers - the breakfast is delicious, but on the sweet side.

Super easy check-in process for travellers arriving late.
Easy to find and a well located accommodation for visiting the National Park. The provided breakfast of Banana bread and yoghurt filled Paw Paw was a nice touch, and helpful for a quick getaway.
Breakfast options could have included toast and spreads for the less adventurous eaters (aka kids).

Very nic eplace, we had time in the hottub for ourselves. The room was nice and clean and the breakfast was good.
Our room was right next ro the breakfast area which means always some noise starting at 6am. The pillows were very big for our taste. Otherwise all good.

Beautiful forested grounds, clean and comfortable beds and bathroom. Delicious morning breakfast of banana bread and papaya boats. Plenty of coffee and tea plus juice. Nice staff.
Hot tub was run down and not kept clean. Outdoor shared spaces were not kept up, outdoor furniture was toppled over and covered in moss, path lights were broken.

The breakfast and morning staff were very nice. The building was nested in a wonderful garden.
Some of bathroom facilities could be updated

2 minutes to the park.
Quite small, but very cozy nice queen bed. Hot tub and beautiful hardwood floors. Great coffee.
I don’t know that papaya, banana bread and coffee (that’s it!) although tasty, qualifies as a “breakfast”.
Maybe scramble a few eggs, some warm toast and jam??

kind and helpful staff
there were some leaks in the gutter outside a window that made loud "tap, tap, tap" noises for awhile as it large drops from the gutter leaks dropped to hit the aluminum roof when it rained lightly

This property is volcano central! As soon as you enter from the lobby, the breakfast area, the office, all the way to your room. There are indications of what to do at the Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. There is scientific information, geological information, and maps. They also have a TV, which has a live feed of the volcano from a few angles. This was imperative for us to know when it started to go off on the two days that we were there, therefore, and this made all the difference in terms of time for us to get into the Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park and get parking so we could walk the devastation trail to the lookout with the best views of the December 23rd eruption event, this had 1400-foot-high lava and magma eruptions at where we had a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the Kīlauea volcano in Hawaii. After arrival, we scouted a good lookout point called Keanakako'i Overlook, where we saw a baby volcano nothing magestic. The very next day around evening, it went absolutely nuclear. The location shaved off 30-40 mins of travel time for us at the very least. For people at the INN almost everyone saw it.
breakfast time window can be short and we missed it on the first day. We never got to use the hot tub because of the weather. since it’s a full wooden cabin if staying in the lower floors, you can hear all the creaking sounds of the people walking or running upstairs.

Included "breakfast" was truly nominal as a meal, for persons who want a meal, not a small variety of snacks and papaya slices. Coffee was very good, and the dining area setting was nice and open-feeling. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom.
(1) The included common area hot tub had no usage instructions, a water temp a bit too low for my preferences (I'm estimating it was around 102-103F), and a timer for jets going on/off with no posted explanations or instructions. Weird, in that regard. (2) The pathway to my detached 3 or 4 guest room building has a "no shoes upstairs" sign at the end of the gravel path, at the foot of two steps up to a walkway to the room, but no place to sit to remove shoes, so - guess what? (3) The room has a dehumidifier and some kind of something built in that would blow air if turned on by wall switch, but no explanation about using either. Also, a handy and very good tiny portable electric heater that one can move about the room on a long cord, but surprised no cautionary notice/stickers (could be a fire hazard if placed against/below some materials). I was grateful to have it in the room, but just surprised by lack of any instructions for it - or anything else mentioned. All the above were minor, but perturbing, issues, and I will likely stay there again.

Great location right next to the Volcano National park. Breakfast (papaya boats, fresh baked banana bread, coffee/tea provided and delicious), the bed and breakfast is clean, has a communal common area where there is tea, books, couches, a big dinner table, and fire place. It also has a separate beautiful area in the main house with big windows where you can eat breakfast or sit which is surrounded by tropical plants (on the outside) making it feel like you're in the jungle/ a tree house surrounded by tropical plants. Its much nicer in person than in the pictures! We also liked that we had a private bathroom in our room.
No complaints. We enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful property but older facility and somewhat dated. Quaint tropical hideaway.
No staff available to orient us about the property, no help with luggage, just an envelope in the common room. Tap water was not potable but they didn’t explain where to find drinking water. Breakfast was minimal but good.

Location Very beautiful grounds. Parking close. Clean room with comfortable bedding and operating windows overlooking lush grounds. Cozy common room and lovely wrap around veranda for breakfast.
No human staff physically present.
Having to remove shoes without slippers provided and having to lug suitcases up stairs bare foot is not really okay. The floor was grimy.
Breakfast was tasty but really how about more than the same item everyday. A stay more than 2 days would not work with this breakfast.

It was quiet.
I had to upgrade and pay $45. extra just to get a TV, and a mini fridge. Mattress was old and even with a mattress topper help make it comfortable. Breakfast was ok. The unit are old and maintenance is so so. Bathroom fan was so noisy and filthy vent. Room temperature water picture was provided, but had to request ice.

Gluten free banana bread was awesome. Central community room was great to hang out in. Upstairs patio where guests could eat I really loved. Tabi is a great hostess!
My room seemed to be chillier than I would have liked. Had to use a couple of blankets at night to stay warm.

It’s quaint and I liked the self-service and complimentary breakfast. Very nice place.
How far up Volcano. If I was visiting the volcano it would be perfect. But I just moved to Big Island and had to go Pahoa a lot.

Located in a secluded jungle-like area at Volcano village. Really close to the Kīlauea volcano!
Maybe a bit more variety of breakfast would be great.

The proximity to Kiluawe national park was good. The homemade banana bread was delicious.
Beds were old and not comfortable. Pillows were quite lumpy. Worst of all, the room’s tap water was not safe to drink! We were given a carafe with drinking water, but not potable water in a hotel was not appreciated. The place felt more like a hostel, not a small hotel.

The papaya bowls were delicious, and the staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating! Our room and facility were both very clean. The large windows at the facility allowed the view of all the beautiful scenery outdoors.
The bathrooms were outdated, but clean. Could provide more complimentary shampoo and body wash.

Little Paradise, the property sits in a beautifully maintained yard. Simple but spacious and very clean, everything as advertised online. The banana bread was heavenly and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Perfect for visiting the National park, just a 3 mile drive.
