Hale Mauna Loa Upper Level with shared Hot Tub

Dear madam, sir, we stayed at this house for 3 nights. We were not pleased at all; the beds were terrible. We are really annoyed; the neighbours downstairs started watching Television each night at around 3.30. This really mad u later regret that we booked this place. Besides this, it was really outdated and not clean. We want to make an official complaint.

Great location minutes away from Volcanoes National Park. Cool rainforest type setting with frog/nature sounds.

Beds were very firm and not the most comfortable.

Pros: It was comfortable and spacious. It is only a few minutes away from Volcano National Park. The grounds are lovely. The firepit was awesome. The price is excellent.

Deeper cleaning is needed. The inside of at least one of the kitchen cabinets was covered in brown dust. At least one of the lamp shades in the master bedroom was covered in black dust. This could turn to mold due to the humidity of being in a rain forest. The grill did not get hot enough to actually cook on. The patio lights did not work while we were there, but we were able to take the floor lamps outside for a quick imperfect fix. The light was still poor, but it sufficed when combined with the firepit. The washer and dryer are locked down. I was expecting to be able to do laundry if needed. Luckily, I was able to move to a resort and do laundry there. So for a few days, no washer/dryer is ok.

Kitchen items were really enough to stay.

I am wondering some sound from downstairs was a bit noisy.

Beautiful setting so different from the lava fields. Loved walking around the house looking at the flowers tied to trees. loved the outdoor patio.

Home was a little outdated for the price.

Greenery / rain forest like surrounds from every window and front balcony. Gas heater use was a necessity and provided good comfort throughout our 6 day stay ,- and surprisingly it was needed Gr8 location to visit Volcano National Park - which we did multiple days and multiple times, morning and night.

Washing machine and dryer were not available at first for our use and each appliance was padlocked. We were shocked and felt untrusted and felt cheated at first. We have learnt that with accommodation advertisements you have to not only look at what is included/ provided, but you have to be more alert and.mindful about what isn't stated. We would expect a statement to the effect that washing machine & dryer isn't available with the booking.com description. We feel that booking.com is complicit in the deception of not allowing use of facilities within a booking where the factory has them. The lady addressing our concerns for the owner was polite, explained things when asked, communicated well, and assisted in problem solving. Our 2nd day was 1/2 wasted finding and using a laundry mat, after which a $20 per day surcharge was negotiated to use the washing machine / dryer. We only needed it on a single day, but we didn't waste time in a laundry mat.

Very convenient location to volcano n.p. Easy access with door code.. nice to have fire place.. good heating in the main room.. February can be wet and cold at volcano ..good functioning kitchen ..

The dehumidifiers make for constant noise.. harder to hear the wonderful bird sounds in the trees around us..but with our a more sophisticated central system hard to avoid given local moisture at the location ..plastic wine glasses not my first choice.. but ok real tumbler glasses..

The house is absolutely wonderful. Our regret is that we didn't stay longer to really take advantage.

No washer and dryer use. Had to go to a laundromat.

Location was exceptional for visiting Volcanoes National Park. We explored and hiked the park during the day, and then went to our property to rest before returning in evening to see the lava. It's possible to do it staying in Hilo; but's it a little bit of a drive (45 minutes). The back porch was nice to lounge around in.

The property is a little dated, but that is to be expected considering it's remote out of the way location. Would've also liked to have had an instruction manual on nearby facilities (restaurant, shopping) and directions on using appliances. The washer and dryer had a lock on it and not sure if we were supposed to have access with a key. If not, I would've like to have had access to the washer and dryer; but the dryer had a lock on it.

Great location so close to the Volcano national park. You would not know that another house was nearby. So secluded in the rainforest. We loved the outside deck with the fire pit table. Very cool place

No dishwasher - but not a big deal to us since it was one night. this is an upstairs of a duplex. I wasn't too clear on that but maybe the owner lives below? didn't see anyone. It is 3 bedrooms upstairs.

The unit is big.

The heater in bedroom are too load. One of the twin bed is not balance and it is not comfortable.

Beautiful setting in rainforest! Comfy accommodations! Fire pit was awesome! Kitchen very nice.

Cold bedrooms. Drinking water in kitchen questionable as we got queasy stomachs. Toilet runs in master bath FYI. Disabled hot tub an eyesore. Need better instructions for T.V. King mattress could use a topper or new mattress.

Location and roominess. The veranda was lovely to sit out on in the evening. Everything was clean.

The outdoor grill was rusted and unusable.

Lovely property in a tropical paradise.

A little tricky to find but not too bad.
