No breakfast although there are many places around

For a small self-run hotel, it was a magnificent stay. The building itself is an 18th, possibly 19th, century townhome right in the heart of South Philly, and within walking distance of South Street, historical sites, and the famous Italian Market. It is also very easy to reach from I-95, which was important because I was primarily visiting family who live in Northeast Philadelphia. A special shoutout to Lisa, the property owner, who was incredibly hospitable and ready to help us with anything and everything that we needed.

There isn't much to not like about the property. If you aren't a fan of a vintage feeling or of cramped stairwells then this isn't for you, but as long as you don't mind carrying your bags up to your room instead of an elevator, it's fine. Everything was clean and comfortable, except for one little house centipede who snuck into our room.

It was a lovely space. I loved the nostalgic feel it gave me with the dressers and canopy beds without canopy. I loved the whirl bath.

The stairs and there was no elevator. I had a large suitcase and carryon that I had to carry up those stairs which was tough. I feel people should be warned about that because if they are handicapped or elderly they could have issues. The place only had 2 towels and no wash cloths but luckily I carry my own when I travel. It didn’t warm up well in the space. Other then the address number and blue door it was hard to find because I was expecting a large sign out front and it to be a traditional hotel and not inn because name says hotel in it.
