Fabulous place, close to everything!

Fun and friendly, we loved the decor and the location! It was too cold while we were there for the pool but it was neato looking. We enjoyed our stay. Room was comfy and had what we needed. I'd stay again!

Very fun!

I actually loved everything except the room. Specifically, the location on South Congress was close to everything, the pool was clean fresh and fun. They have a bartender serving delicious drinks! The restaurant was so so good!!

The room was tiny. Tiny can be okay if they create a place for your suitcase. Like something you pull out of wall, like a sturdy shelf to place your suitcase on. We unfortunately had to place our suitcase on the floor and stepping over it became ridiculous. The bathroom had a yucky shower curtain that blew and touched your body when you showered! So scary.

Mixed bag! Cool design but quite pricey.

Great location for sure! Design led, great branding. Free parking bonus! Reception staff were friendly and helpful letting us in a couple hours early, frozen margs were turbo! I liked the country radio in the room!

Maybe I’m the instagram sucker 🤣 or was just particularly quiet days (but was Thursday and Friday ACL so expected some buzz for the price!) but the pool area (main selling point when staying in small expensive room!) just fell a bit flat. Bar staff left little earlier than we were told, which wasn’t TERRIBLE as I said was quiet, but could have just popped round to ask all 4 of us if wanted one more before left etc, maybe bit too cool for school, or a bad day. Just felt quite pricey, maybe pool day pass it if want a cold dip on a more buzzy day with a (delicious!) marg as room nothing to particularly shout about. But please do see pros.

The motel is very old, but they have tried to dress it up. Multiple layers of likely lead paint, no vent fan in bathroom, (can’t open window) no tissues, light over bed didn’t work. The bed is very low to the ground. No closet, only a hanging bar over the table. Little room for luggage.

We were able to relax even though we were there for a tough family situation.

From the moment we checked in, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The room was super clean and the beds were soooo comfortable! We were walking distance to so many great shops amd restraunts.

We had requested two queens and received a king, but I was with my mom, which was ok. (The mattress was so comfortable that we both wanted to buy one!) The tub had rust around the drain. That's all ... It was a great place!

Best hotel in Austin

This is my favourite hotel I’ve ever stayed at! The whole vibe is amazing. It’s colourful, full of character and the staff are super lovely. Location is perfect for walking around shops, great food and drinks nearby. I loved it so much I extended my stay twice, book book book!

This is closer to a motel than a hotel

The location of the hotel was perfect. Within walking distance of a lot of things to do and see. The vibe was fun and the staff was friendly. The AC and television worked great, which was important given how hot it was outside. The pool looked fun but we didn't get a chance to visit it. The mattress and pillows made our stay worthwhile. Rarely is a motel bed as good as mine.

The floor was disgusting. It had various stains on it. I was afraid to walk around the room without my sandals on. The room decor could have used a little more pictures and the penise hangers were a bit much but I get it. They were however, a bit too close together to allow a towel to dry quicker.

Amazing , the rooms and the pool are all you need!

Everyone was really kind. We loved the retro vibes of the rooms. The coconut body wash was a nice touch as well. It’s great that there is a Bluetooth speaker . The pool is amazing. The music was one of our favorite things. Pet friendly and great food, music, coffee shops. You don’t need a car when you are there. Everything is walkable. Highly recommend, 10/10

Black out curtains would have been amazing, and upgrading the shower head. Other than that it was perfect .

Couldn’t be better!

This is an iconic Austin hotel. My now husband and I stayed here during our first date (which was me flying to Texas for a 6 day road trip). This hotel is fun, clean, super comfortable beds, and in an unbelievable location to still offer free parking. We loved it 9 years ago and still love it today. The staff is amazing, friendly, accommodating and show that customer service is NOT a dying industry.

A quirky Austin gem for the whole family

Right, so we just got back from a cracking stay at the Austin Motel, and honestly, it was an absolute delight. As a family, we're always on the hunt for places with a bit of character, and this spot absolutely delivered. First off, its retro-chic vibe is just super charming. You really do feel like you've zipped back to the '80s, but in the best possible way. It's a proper escape from the usual humdrum of modern city life, despite being right in the thick of things. Location-wise, it's brilliant – really close to the city centre and nestled in a rather trendy part of town. Plus, and this is always a win for families, they offer free parking, which is a definite bonus. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, and we were quite impressed with their rather clever messaging system before and after check-in; it made everything super smooth. One of the highlights for us was stumbling upon their full moon pool party. What a laugh! The kids (and us, to be fair) had an absolute blast splashing about. And for the most important bit, especially after a busy day of exploring: the beds were incredibly comfortable. We were in a building out back, and it was wonderfully quiet, ensuring a truly relaxing night's sleep for everyone. All in all, the Austin Motel is a unique little find, and we'd genuinely recommend it for families looking for something a bit different.

One minor detail: The fridge was pre-stocked with drinks, which was a bit impractical if you want to store your own stuff.

The location is great!

The location was the great value for the money. Easy access to many stores and restaurants walking close by. The room was simple but good and comfortable.

In general was good, but for the cost I would expect a little more attention with some items in the apartment that was broken, for example the curtains which was with one piece missing.

LOVED LOVED the lobby and our room 308! Bought a darling hot dog candle for a cousins wedding shower. The pool was AMAZING as was the party Thursday night with live band dancing and vintage cars. Enjoyed the blue corn pancakes at Joann’s fine foods next door.

Great stay and the pool is wonderful

Great motel in an excellent location. Very quiet and the pool is a real bonus. Lovely to be able to swim and relax after sightseeing or an evening out at a music venue. Staff were very helpful and quick to solve any potential issues or requests.

The small room we started in had too much furniture and not enough storage. Easy to fix with more hooks and shelves.

Wonderful end to our honeymoon road trip

Loved this place. Great atmosphere and wonderful decor. Very comfortable bed as well, not squishy soft but you still sink away in it (my guess is memory foam?). Pool seemed bigger in-person than it did on the pictures.

Price feels a little bit steep. Also no breakfast available (not that they advertise it, but it would've been a nice addition).

We loved the staff. Helenah was so helpful in making our Anniversary stay so special. It was very convenient to many of our favorites on South Congress. The pool was awesome and so was the music the bartender played.
