Villa On Boavista Golf Resort, Lagos, Western Algarve

A great property with lots of extras like beach towels and chairs. Very clean and well appointed with loads of space. The only slight issue was the WiFi was very patchy but when there are 6 people, all with devices then that can be expected. We found that if we switched to our free data roaming where possible it solved the issue.

Fiona was an excellent host, minor problems were taken care of of in a timely manner. The villa is well equipped, kitchen is small, but we made it work. Nice location on the golf course.

Fiona the owner was very helpful, she answered emails very promptly. The property was very clean and well equipped. Roberta the property manager was also very pleasant and helpful. I would have no reservation in recommending this property.

Mixed. In our view, this property is well suited for a short term rental as opposed to a long term rental. We booked for 3 months, so this villa basically became our ‘home’ during our stay. While overall we were moderately satisfied, we were disappointed in the quality of the two mattresses in the master suite (zero side support and extremely soft), the squeaking bed frame in the 2nd upstairs bedroom, quality of the pillows and bedding, some leaking shower hoses, absence of an upright vacuum for carpeting, the 10 year old living room tv with no Netflix, a weak internet signal that could be improved with a fibre upgrade, lack of a basic coffee pod machine, an old wobbly recliner with a torn ottoman in the living room and some lights not working even after bulbs were replaced. The cleaner (Lisa) and the local representative (Roberta) were extremely responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Roberta quickly arranged to replace a broken dishwasher we found upon arrival, ensured the heating units were promptly serviced when required and, with a technician, tried to remedy problems with the tv in the living area. Roberta coordinated our check out and saw/confirmed that we left the property in very good order. Bottom line, if the owner were to invest 1500-2000 to improve property shortcomings, it would be a VERY suitable property for any discriminating long term tenants. We are returning to BoaVista for 3 months in 2026, but have booked a different property.
