Close to everything we wanted to do in San Marcos. The front desk person was helpful.
It's more motel than hotel, which I was not expecting from La Quinta. All the rooms have exterior entrances. Our room had a bit of trash on the floor so we asked to switch rooms. This was handled quickly with sincere apologies. The second room was clean. The bed was not comfortable and the coffee maker had no coffee packets.

The hotel needs one person to work breakfast and another person to work at the counter to check guests in and out.

The service was professional and prompt.
Non working utilities. Low water pressure, no hot water for taking shower only warm water. Room heater did not work. Cranked it up to 85 and still room was cold. Only cool air worked. My room key kept having to get recharged every night, very annoying.

Front desk guy was nice and the lobby was decent
Room was not what was pictured on booking app. It smelt like mold and mildew. There was pubic hairs on the towels and inside the shower, thick layer of dust on the headboard none of the lights which is worked and they had lamps in every suction of the room just to have light microwave that was mounted did not work. They did have a second microwave underneath it fridge did not work extremely dirty.

When we arrived the room was dirty. There was feces on the toilet rim. We took a picture and went back to the front desk to show them. They did send someone right away to clean, but it just gave us the ick feeling for the whole room. The tabletop had a ring left on it from a dinner plate. We went to Walmart and bought cleaning supplies to clean all surfaces ourselves.

I then decided to watch the news on TV - NO SIGNAL.
I am not happy, I called the manager (Nick) the next morning - he said he 'would look into the issues...' - NEVER heard from him - NOT very professional

It was pretty accommodating. It was located close to the venue the event was held.
I did not realize asking for an early check-in was an extra $30. If you sign-up for the Wyndham Rewards, then you could get it for free. If you need to have a late check-out, there is a charge for that, too. Be mindful of some of life's incoveniences will cost you. That means the total they give you when you first reserve your room will go up with any adjustments.

The property is in a great location! Right off the highway (but without noise) and has many store and dining options nearby.
The rooms could definitely use some updating. My room had a strange smell (most likely from moist carpet), the shower light did not work so the bathroom was very dim, and there were no available outlets for phone charging. Breakfast was not to my liking as the pancakes were still raw out of the machine and the bread and cereal were stale.

I liked the close proximity to the San Marcos River. This La Quinta had breakfast, which was another reason I selected this spot. The breakfast options were plain, no waffle maker insight. The cleaning crew knocked on my door too early. It did however serve its purpose. It was clean and affordable.
I thought this location held all the rooms inside. It was a surprise that this hotel looked like a motel.

Large roach running across floor in entryway. Strong bad odors in room. Large cluster spider eggs under chair seat. These were the first five minutes of check in. Decided not to stay.

Our suite was huge....loved it!!
We were missing our ice bucket and the shampoo and body wash bottles were tiny. No soap at the sink. I also didn't like having to walk around outside to get to the front desk exposed to the rain. It would be nice if there was more than one of these suites available on the property.

Everyone that works there is so nice and helpful. The location was good too. The breakfast was good but the pancake maker broke the day before which is not their fault.
This place needs to be updated ASAP! To be La Quinta I had higher hopes but it’s very outdated and not very well kept. The towel bar broke off, the sheets and comforter were dingy yellow color so basically old and the fixtures were super dusty. The mattresses need to be replaced too, my parent’s bed had a big dip in the middle. The pool area was nice but they never turned the jacuzzi on.

Hotel seems older and you can tell things are going downhill. When you kneel to put kids in bath you see a ton of mole under the tub. Doors could use a new coat of paint. Maybe update the room a bit. You can’t use microwave and have the light on. Not trying to nag, it was clean when we got there and rooms were cleaned daily by staff who seemed to care. Just an older hotel. May need some updates. Breakfast was decent but it was the same food everyday. It would be nice to see other choices beside eggs and sausage. Maybe have a working jacuzzi!

Showers were hot and felt amazing. Bed was decent. Breakfast pastry was good. Our king room was clean and we were both able to relax.
The pool wasn't clean, so we didn't end up swimming. There were people that were smoking, and we thought it was a non-smoking hotel?

Room was so dirty my bare feet turned brown from the carpet. Lots of long term guests who lived there, which would have been fine except their marijuana smoke filled my room after they smoked. Black mold on the walls. Most things in disrepair.
