About this house rental

Right in the middle of a quiet rural village and situated in the lake county, (good fishing area) an hour from Dublin, this is the ideal spot to relax or use as a base to travel from. Golf is big, with 5 golf courses within half an hour travelling distance. The house, once the village bakery, is to the rear of Weirs Bar & Restaurant, our award winning Gastro Pub. Our restaurant open's Wed-Sat 12.30 -8.30pm & Sunday, 12.30-8pm. The house is decorated quite modernly and we will do our best to help you enjoy your holiday.
We have just received a Bridgestone Award 'Best in Ireland 2022' so we are delighted with that.

Right in the middle of a quiet rural village and situated in the lake county, (good fishing area) an hour from Dublin, this is the ideal spot to relax or use as a base to travel from. Pat and Unawere both so nice and welcoming, and Poppy was just a joy! Also Una's cheese cake was to die for! Thanks for taking us to the bog. Your location near the middle of Ireland was perfect for our trip. Molly wants to live here now. I left my hammock hanging in the trees, You might want to take it down in the winter, but it's a perfect place. I also left the sleeping bag in case other guests want to camp in the hedge. Anyway thanks for that great stay, we love Ireland!

We showed up and immediately were greated with a warmth of family. Within 10 minutes had helped pat fix a swing. Was later given a bike tour of the beautiful town by Pat himself. And that night came back and were offered to sit down and have a drink and talk with Pat as well.The house was perfect and location was just as amazing. With occasional check ups while sitting at the bar the owners made this stay feel like home. The restaurant they own was probably some of the best food we had during our entire week in the country. Cannot thank them enough.

Pat and Una Weir were attentive and gracious hosts. We arrived around 18:00(6:00 pm) after exploring the ancient New Grange/ Boyne Valley area. Even though Una was very busy welcoming diners she showed us the apartment straight away and explained how everything works. We had not made reservations for the evening meal and they were having to turn away customers Pat brought in another table and chairs. I had the best bowl of seafood chowder I've ever eaten followed by a perfectly cooked steak. Beth had their signature chicken stuffed with

It’s perfectly located for day trips, right next to an amazing pub with great food and good beer. The owners are friendly, helpful and informative. It has all the amenities that you need for an extended stay. The WiFi is great, it has a nice kitchen, a good sized comfortable bed, wading machine, access to a dryer. It was a great to relax between day trips and we had a fabulous vacation. We would definitely visit Una and Pat again!

We had a lovely stay at Una’s property. We were two sisters on holiday with our mother from Canada, who traces her ancestry back to multiple location in Ireland, so Una’s rental was a perfect choice as it wa more central, yet still close to Dublin, giving us the best of both worlds. Una was a wonderful host who immediately made us feel at home. The house had many amenities and clearly was prepared with thought and care, and we loved visiting the Weir’s restaurant next door, and particularly appreciated that they had vegan options! We loved our stay and would definitely recommend it.

We contacted Una and let her know we were going to be in town earlier and asked for things to do to fill our time until we arrived and she instantly offered us to check in early. Una and Pat were so friendly. They visited with us and that aspect of getting to know each other was wonderful. We used this home as home base to go to The cliffs of Moher and Kilkenny Castle. Ran into Mulingar to grab lunch and shop, which was only 15 minutes away. Mulingar had a great Pub, Danny Byrnes, I would highly suggest going if possible. Una and Pat’s pub was through the roof, the best food, company, service, atmosphere and wood stove! Una brought us brown bread and fresh butter at the home. Pat suggested TullyNally castle and it is a must! It’s nearby and is still occupied but an older man, amazing. I truly could not ask for better hosts.Thanks Una & Pat. Jesus bless you

The most wonderful stay - the property was absolutely spotlessly clean, lovely comfy bed, extremely well equipped and fantastic bits (tea,coffee etc) to get you started. My husband and I couldn't have been happier with this rental. The property was charming and near the excellent restaurant/pub run by the owners. I could enjoy live pub music one night, and the next, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meals served to us. Best of all, Pat and Una went above and beyond the duties of hosts. When my car unexpectedly -- and suddenly -- developed problems with its clutch, Una immediately contacted a friend, a mechanic, who was able to repair the car within a day. Meanwhile, she had lent us her own car to enable us to carry out our plans to visit a dear friend in Sligo. They were so friendly and kind! I hope we can return someday and meet them again.

We stayed in Multyfarnham for easy access to Dublin, and found it to be just that. Close enough to be convenient, but far enough out to be a quiet little village, which is much more our speed. Dinner at Weirs was SO GOOD, and it was nice to have it right there. All the staff was very welcoming and helpful, we could feel that they were truly happy to host and take care of all their guests. The house is so roomy and was a great place to land after a day in the city.

We stayed in 6 different VRBO rentals all over Ireland this past month. Of them all, this was the best of all. It was very clean, had an attentive host (managing the lovely restaraunt in front), it was quiet and secluded, the grounds were beautiful...and best of all, the Multifarnham area was astounding. I took a short walk and found the Abbey in town that included a botanical garden with cafe (and tea houses scattered around the grounds), and an amazing park and walking paths around the Abbey. We went to Trim and th Belvedere mansion grounds south of Mulliganar, and spent an easy day in Dublin, all from this location. An easy last drive to the airport from here.

Owners Una and Patrick "Pat" Weir are the warmest and friendliest hosts we've ever encountered. We arrived from a late flight at 9:00 o'clock and were welcomed immediately by Una as we parked our car in front of Weirs Bar & Restaurant. Even though the kitchen had closed, she handed us menus and made us comfortable while a lovely meal was prepared for us. She then showed us our comfortable accommodations and we quickly felt at home. It was a wonderful week for us as we enjoyed several tours that the Weirs suggested. We’ve just left to visit another part of Ireland and we miss their friendly smiles already!

We stayed her for 3 weeks as it was close to being central in the Republic of Ireland. Wonderful hosts, wonderful meals in the pub, great meeting some of the locals and in a few short days we felt like locals. The accommodation was clean and everything that we needed was at hand. We really enjoyed our stay in Ireland. Una and Pat are wonderful, and made us feel welcome. So did their dog Max and their cat Mr. Black. We had hoped to experience "the real Ireland" and that goal was achieved. This apartment gave us a great central location for visiting the Midlands and East to Dublin. This comfortable, well equipped property is tucked away behind the main street in the quiet village of Multyfarnham. The central position of the village allows for extensive day trips, including to Dublin, Galway and Sligo as well as being well placed as a base from which to explore central Ireland. The hosts are very helpful and welcoming, there are delicious meals on hand, available at their bar and restaurant and supplies for self catering can easily be obtained from stores in nearby Mullingar. Would thoroughly reccommend it as a place to stay and hope to revisit in the future.

Just back from a four night stay which we enjoyed very much. We were made feel very welcome on arrival.Our host was first class and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Our house had everything we needed and more. The bed was comfy with crisp white sheets. The weather was lovely and the gardens are full of beautiful plants and shrubs. This was our first trip to Ireland, and it was fantastic! We were so happy with our accommodations in the beautiful village of Multyfarnham in the Midlands. It gave us a perfect vantage point for exploring! Pat and Una Weir, our hosts, and owners of Weir’s Pub and Restaurant , were very welcoming and helpful, and by the end of our stay, became good friends! Their restaurant is lovely and has excellent food and attentive staff, and the pub is just the experience you imagine when planning a trip to the countryside of Ireland, full of charming folks and good beer! This was a once in a lifetime experience, and we hope to return !

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Weir's cottage in Multyfarnham. The cottage was a perfect home away from home for me! In fact that's how I thought of it! The cottage was clean, cozy and I wanted for nothing. Max the dog was such a warm welcome at the door in the morning that you couldn't help but smile . The owners Una and Pat were so friendly, helpful and approachable..it felt like we had known each other forever! The restaurant food was a gastornomical delight!! Amazing!!! Staff and locals were so friendly. Atmosphere, staff and locals ,Friday night music...who ould ask for more! Una was a wealth of tourist information and I was kept busy with one bit or another. If Una doesn't know, she will know someone who does. I hate to give a good review because I would like to keep this place my own personal secret but that would be so unfair to others who would miss out on this gem. My next visit will be longer. One week was no where near enough! Special thanks to Una and Pat for making my 1st trip to Ireland to my last. See you in the spring!

Love the place. this house was perfect for us ( senior couple from California), plenty of space both upstairs and down. Large bed was nice to have, and comfortable. Welcome Home

We booked here for almost a month recently. Most of the amenities were adequate for a couple of vagabonds like ourselves, but there was no clothes dryer which was slightly problematic. We were under the impression there was one. Max, the Weir's dog, greeted us wholeheartedly every time we returned from traveling which was fun for us and helped us not miss our own pets too much. The restaurant (which served delucious food) and pub are staffed with extremely friendly young people and Pat and Una were on hand most nights as well, with Pat giving us great advice on places to visit during our stay. However, toward the end of our stay, Pat and Una went away and did not leave us with any names or numbers of whom to contact if we had any problems. Unfortunately we did have the toilet break on us during that time and it tainted our visit slightly.
