Such a cute, quaint hotel. It seemed newly refreshed but kept the character and charm. It was walking distance to the store, bar and restaurants. The front desk was warm and welcoming.
The only thing was the noise from the cars going by as it is the main road into Yosemite. But it really wasn’t bad and quieted down when it got dark.

Good place. Clean and comfortable. Staff was very professional and responsive. Parking was easy and accessible.
This is not a criticism of the property, but if you’re looking for a place close to Yosemite, just know that it is still a bit of a drive to the north entrance and down to the the valley floor. That said, it is much cheaper than the places closer to the entrance. Also, if you place to visit the south end the park near Mariposa Grove, I’d recommend staying in Fish Camp. The drive from Groveland to Mariposa area of Yosemite can be almost 2 hours. So this is not a criticism of the hotel but just a warning depending on what you plan to do in the park.

Everything apart from air conditioning
Air conditioning noise is very annoying

Bed was very comfortable and cute decor for the room overall.
Couldn't use spa tub because it had no drain stopper/plug.

We loved the staff and location. The room was cute.
The bed was absolutely awful! Keep in mind, I love a firm bed and multiple pillows. However, The pillows were giantly over stuffed. You could really use them for sleep. The bed was the hardest most uncomfortable bed I have possibly ever attempted to sleep in.

Authentic surroundings.
Unfortunately, the staff were busy putting up extensive Halloween decorations and we were generally left to our own devices. The website should state Mon and Tue are closed days so the in-house bar and dining room were unavailable.

Such a beautiful historic hotel! Loved the porch area and enjoyed the patio area in the back.
There was no air conditioning in the room and it was a very hot night. The hotel pictures show the patio lit up with string lights at night, but it was not lit when we stayed there.

Wonderful place to enjoy an old gold rush town-quaint! It was nice and quiet and the room was very comfortable with a nice size bathroom!
I wish the restaurant would have been open!

The location got us close to the Yosemite National Park entrance. We were able to depart at 4:00 am and make it to the parking for Clouds Rest before the crowds.
The hotel was very clean and set in a cute town.

The location is great to explore Yosemite Park
A little disappointed with the property , the restaurant only opens from Thursday - Sunday ( not great if your visit is from Mon - Thu ) , the bar was also not open - at this point we are a little confused if its a hotel , the reception was not manned upon arrival ( phone a number if you have any queries )- not a great first impression.
My biggest problem is the main road through the town straight outside the bedroom - perfect if you want a 0500 hrs alarm call , once the traffic begins heading into the park. The room we had allocated didn’t have much room to store your luggage , but did have a rather large and noisy fridge which buzzed all night - if you can’t tell we have 3 nights booked but only stayed 2

The quaintness.
Road noise.

No problems with wi-fi. Comfortable bed: reasonably firm mattress, pillows neither too skimpy nor too large and solid. Lighting OK for reading in bed.
No desk or table with chair in the room, so no place to set up my laptop. I could use a table and chair in a common area, but it was a smallish circular glass-topped table, not idea for laptopping.

The perfect hotel to stay at on the way to Yosemite. Comfortable beds, good food and a lovely location being in an old gold rush town.
We also .enjoyed the Iron Door Salloon next door, as they had live music.
The only negative I have is very minor in that no one told us that they lock the main door after a certain time and that you get back in via a door on the upstairs balcony.

Perfect location
The other guests were quite noisy till late at night. In fairness, it was a holiday weekend & the hotel has an attached bar/restaurant.

It’s location
Room was hot bc AC was Broken
Bed frame was too big for tiny room which caused you to have to turn side ways to get between bed and standing shelf furniture
Door leading to second floor balcony had too small shade which allowed large amount of light into the tiny room. This prevented the room to become dark at night

I liked the outdoor spaces
The restaurant wasn’t open while I was there. You could hear right through the walls

Good value for money. Close to restaurants and grocery store.
A bit short bed in the twin room for 190cm tall people.

Great stay during our trip to California. We were here for 5 nights. The beds were comfortable, the shower hot and powerful. Able to watch Netflix and other other TV during the evenings. Great restaurants, Mexican and Iron door. Cute little village with grocery store within walking distance. Good size car park.
The only downside is that the fridge is not silent, and the blinds are not blackout. Also, the hall light shines through the bedroom door border. Also, didn't have much table space/surfaces to put things on.

They hadn’t started serving breakfast so that was a little disappointing. But our stay was everything we imagined. The staff especially Taylor was very helpful and courteous! We had a wonderful dinner one night and was compensated for staying at the hotel.

Everything was nice and as expected. Our late arrival was prepared with no issues. There was all we needed for a short stay.

I was not able to stay. Booking.com took my money but there were no rooms available.

Great location both for Yosemite access and in the centre of a village with lots of character; iconic building with modern facilities and decor in rooms
Rooms a little on the small side. Food and drink in restaurant seemed expensive, we didn’t eat there as a result but good other options around

The bar and restaurant were good but not open for the first couple of nights which was a surprise. We struggled to get food in Groveland on the Monday evening.
The rooms were tired and we had to request housekeeping if we wanted the room cleaned or the beds made. I do not expect that over a five day stay.

I didn’t have breakfast there. I was impressed. It was a cute hotel. The room was great. The bed was super comfy. It was a bit pricey, but I understand the location made that so.
