Motel 6-Carlsbad, CA - East Near LEGOLAND

How close it was to LEGOLAND.

The room seemed dirty. The beds were uncomfortable and the sheets were scratchy and cheap.

I like that it was close to my business conference. I like that dogs and kids are free and that they have a refrigerator and microwave.

I didn’t like that they had roaches. I didn’t like that the bed was dirty. The floor was filthy, that it needs major renovation not just some paint on the walls. I didn’t like the smell coming from the air conditioning /heater unit. don’t like the fact that waste water was falling down in my bathroom and flooding out my room disgusting. This property needs a major renovation inside and out.

The room was clean but old, smelled horrible and was damp. The pillows were old and linen was dingy. They had a phone that was there for looks!

A lot of noise , I am not sure if it was a washroom near but it was a noise .

Some of the staff is friendly and the interiors (if they've been serviced by a housekeeper) are clean and in good order. Also, the place is conveniently located near a grocery store, things to do, etc.

I had an absolutely TERRIBLE experience with the owner/manager of this location (the one appearing to be of Middle Eastern/Indian ethnicity). They tried to give me a room that hadn't been cleaned yet, so I very patiently and politely asked the owner/manager if he could switch me to one that had already been cleaned/serviced, to which he apologized and agreed. The new room he moved me to, however, had a HORRIBLE odor. So, I again very patiently and politely returned to the front desk and asked him if it would be possible to be moved to another room. This time, however, he became short-tempered and rude, telling me that all the rooms are usually full and that, if I wasn't happy, he would just give me a refund. Before I could even answer the question, though, he was already eagerly in the process of issuing me a refund. (I had just stayed in this Motel 6 for three nights a few days prior, and I had absolutely no problems with the smell or condition of the room.) Another night a few days later, I rebooked with this Motel 6 because I saw that they had availability in one of the first-floor rooms I had stayed in prior. When I arrived at the motel, however, the owner/manager very angrily said he would not allow me to stay there because, "Last time you switch[ed] the room THREE times." When I attempted to explain to him that I only wanted to switch rooms ONCE (since the first time, the room wasn't ready; there were no sheets or blankets on the bed even), he loudly spoke over me, continually interrupting me, until I just told him, "If you're not going to give me a cash refund, then I'm calling the police." Even still, he refused, so I had to call the police to get them to sort out the issue and ensure that my Booking reservation was properly cancelled. I believe the real issue here is that THERE IS SEX-TRAFFICKING GOING ON AT THIS LOCATION, AND HE DID NOT WANT TO RENT TO SOMEONE HE COULDN'T EXPLOIT.

First off i woke up with lots of unknown bug bites. The staff wouldn’t let me rebook a room because “my dog” was barking i do not have a dog

The proximity to Legoland California. Staff is friendly as well.

Floor was very dirty, no basic toiletries like shampoo and conditioner.

Its was a stones throw from the beach and freeways. Close to grocery stores gas stations and food. And you can bring your fur babies for free.

Beds are a bit uncomfortable. And be sure you bring you toiletries.

It was close to Legoland and besides the freeway traffic it was quiet

I didn't like the lack of pillows , my neck was very stiff after staying for 2 nights , and that we didn't get some kind of breakfast , I would've loved to be able to have some kinda pastry even .

I did not like there is 1 parking spot per room. I was told there wasn't any more nonsmoking rooms left but they sold a nonsmoking room to the next person not realizing I was there standing with other customers The front receptionist Scott told me I can go get another hotel late at night that they can not acomodate us women. It was so unpleasant interacting with Scott.

We didn’t even stay 20 mins from check in to the room. Once we opened the door, it stunk of smoke, mildew or mold. The bed sheets/cover on top of the bed smelled like they didn’t change it from the last tenants and just fixed everything. The pillows were yellow. The room had no airflow, it stunk throughout. We stayed outside the room before leaving the key at the front desk and leaving out of there fast as possible. We’re pretty sure there was a sex worker lingering around the property, posted up and smoking everywhere outside. Pretty sure she was a night walker. The staff was very unprofessional and uncooperative. When we told her we want a non smoking room, she said because we “moved the pillows” she can’t move us. Mind you, EVERYONE IS GONNA CHECK THE BED FIRST TO SEE IF ITS SLEEPABLE. And then when we went back asking for a refund and that the room is unacceptable. She said “we’re low on cleaning staff, there’s nothing I can do. And because you already went inside the room, I’m not gonna refund you.” We only went in because she refused to switch us. We stayed outside by our vehicle the majority of the time. Mind you. It was all within 20-25 mins from checking in to leaving the room. The staff was already rude to other customers infront of us. We will never book a motel 6 from anywhere ever again from this one experience

This was the worst hotel ever. Upon check in, we discovered the sheets were disgusting with multiple giant stains. The bathtub was chipped and peeling. When requesting a clean room, the front desk was extremely rude and hung up on us. We requested a refund via booking.com where we booked this hotel for 3 nights. No official response from hotel. But when we went back to the hotel at night, we were told we had to move out in 15 mins, because the front desk told us “we weren’t going to stay for free.” But we paid for 3 nights in advance, nothing was refunded to us. And the first night we were put in a disgusting room with filthy bed sheets. We were kicked out before the second night by the hotel and still no refunds were made to us. The worst hotel experience ever! It’s a scam hotel. Do not book here!!!

And the shower rod and curtain fell off the wall and hit my husband so neither of us could shower.WITHOUT FLOODIBG THE ROOM. when I called the office the manager was rude condescending and hung up on me. I WANT MY MONEY BACK

Everything. Super dirty paint chipping everywhere. Bugs and homeless people everywhere. People doing drugs in broad daylight, super noisy at night and it was very itchy and outside our room smelled like pooh

Awful, the customer service is appalling, the front desk manager is Indian, danesh maybe his name? He needs to be fired threatening to call cops on me and friend, if you read previous comments he does it a lot to people, arrogant and rude! The manager cursed me out said my friend looked homeless, another reason she couldn’t stay there anymore. Now I am not allowed by association. Not even my room or problem. My friend had a reservation completely un related to me, because things went wrong for her I couldn’t stay, also said that because I had two kids and dog, he said he “didn’t want that bullshit” the Towels are small, they are stingy with them, bath tubs are painted and peeling. When my friend checked in she was told they cant have kids in the lobby longer then 10 mins they hate kids. Awful service when a lot government funding pays their salary for the homeless how they treat ppl is disgusting. Theres alway a blonde old lady on the corner under tree daily obviously homeless, talking to various men Bringing them into her room doing god knows what yet they threaten to call cops on me for less when I never checked out late I’m always respectful. Yet families cant stand there? This place is a nightmare because of customer service most of all.
