Perfect for early SFO flight

Perfect for an early flight from SFO as it provides a shuttle to and from the airport. The lady on the front desk was so helpful in recommending nearby restaurants and the room - and bed - was huge! Great to sit and watch the planes landing and taking off from the room. Breakfast and 24hr coffee is included but can’t comment as the flight was too early

Booking.com upgraded us with rooms with views of the bay.

The in-room coffee was flavorless and wimpy. Because we got up too early for the breakfast coffee, we had to make our own bad in-room coffee with white stuff. You might consider at least leaving a few small containers of the half-and-half in the mini-fridge - you know, the ones you offer with breakfast. To be fair, most hotels are offering this tasteless prepackaged coffee now, but a hotel that has good in-room coffee goes up star or two in my book.

We have always liked staying at Bay Landing Hotel - and in the past, the room and service were great. The rooms are large, clean and well equipped. We like having a refrigerator. The hotel is convenient to the airport.

Unfortunately, this time, in our room, the telephone did not work and the maintenance person could not fix it. In addition, the reason we wanted to use the telephone is that we wanted to call the front desk and tell them that the temperature in the room was over 80 degrees, and our efforts to lower the thermostat didn't seem to have any effect. The maintenance person did come fairly quickly after we physically went to the front desk and was able to change the thermostat. But why it was set to 80+ degrees in the first place is unclear to us.

It was good enough for a short stay.

The breakfast was food, but no gluten free options available. The front desk staff was nice, but very busy to be able to answer the phone promptly. Bathroom was nice with several bath products offered.

There were smells of smoke and weed coming into our room, not sure how. Shuttle schedule was too spread out.

Great location

Love the location overlooking the bay and airport. I wasn’t bothered by airplanes landing and taking off.

It was a bit pricey. The airport shuttle didn’t fit my schedule well. I waited 30 minutes at the airport for it, and had to take it over too early the next day since they have a very long break in the middle of the day.

The proximity to SFO as well as other places that I’d like to reach in Foster city and San Mateo.

Simple, easy, helpful staff, quick check-in

Many people staying at the hotel (including us) had to leave at 5am or earlier. Coffee in the room and downstairs at all hours is A+. We love that they still use a regular coffee machine! Quick Check-in

Truly disappointing and upsetting

Location

This was my second time staying at this hotel, but unfortunately, this year’s experience was very disappointing. Despite requesting housekeeping *three times* during our 6-night stay, our room was only cleaned *once*. There were ants all over the room, which made it even more frustrating. This morning, after we had once again asked for the room to be cleaned, we came back to find nothing had been done. When I called the front desk to report that our room had still not been cleaned, the person at the front desk responded in a rude and irritated tone and then hung up on me. I have never experienced such behavior at any hotel before, and I found it deeply disrespectful and unprofessional. When I called back just to ask for clean towels, I was told “There’s no one to bring them, you’ll have to come get them yourself.” Last year’s experience was wonderful, which is why I chose to return with my father, but sadly, this time it was truly disappointing and upsetting.

Great hotel if you want to be near the airport.

Check in was great- staff were really friendly and got us the room a bit early; clean room and I had paid for a water view which was nice. Breakfast had great variety. Hotel is so close to airport which was great.

The carpet in the room is old and needs cleaning; there was no seating available at breakfast time around 8:30 am so we had to sit in the entrance lobby, or outside area under the sun, which is nice but doesn't have any shade.

Lovely, as always.

We have stayed there before on layovers for international trips out of SFO. This visit worked perfectly: the shuttle picked us up, we were able to collapse and sleep well, and their shuttle delivered us to our gate the next morning. Stress free. We were given our preferred room location, and it was quiet, as requested. We were able to enjoy the generous breakfast the next morning, before leaving for a long flight.

The only thing we noted was that the breakfast area was jam packed, even with constant turnover. It did not affect our experience, but I cringed for the apparent single server who was doing her best to serve everyone. And there were a lot of us, and the turnover didn't stop. (I think many of the guests may have been there for a wedding venue next door.) I would suggest providing more help for the overworked personnel at breakfast.

Good Quality Stay

Loved the bay view in our room. It was fun to watch the tide go in and out. Airport shuttle ran about every 45 min, which worked for us. Driver was good (we used the shuttle to get to BART at the airport as well). Breakfast was good, and the wifi worked well. Room was as good as the one we had at the Marriott for our hobby show (we stayed here a couple of days after our show to sightsee in SF).

We had a little trouble with the TV remote.
