Comfortable stay.

I like the staff and the location of the property.

In the ladies washroom when someone takes a shower the water from the drain near the handwashing area used to come out. Though staff was on top of it but the issue is constant.

Overall great, cheap, and convenient

The location was very convenient. Able to walk everywhere or take the SkyTrain. The breakfast was alright. The showers were surprisingly clean for a hostel.

The location is known for being close to several construction sites so noise is a big part of the stay. They start early in the morning. Also heat in the room: we had to keep the windows open at all times (which did not help tuning down the construction), when closed we were cooking like a turkey on Thanksgiving.

A nice hostel with good management. Convenient to travel from the Airport to the hostel. Close to beach and ferry terminal travelling to Granville Island.

The bedding sheet and the pillow case were quite old and turned yellow.

Nice centrally located hostel with friendly staff. Nice lounge and clean room and common areas.

It was my second stay at this centrally located HI Canada hostel in Vancouver after a 7-year break. I was happy to stay there again. Very friendly staff, nice common area and kitchen, clean room and shower/bathroom area. Good value for this price, taking into account you get accommodated in Vancouver downtown. Looking forward to staying there again in the future.

Great stay on a budget, great opportunity to meet fellow travellers!

Great location, breakfast encourages mingling with common travelers, which is a great benefit of staying at this sort of place. Breakfast was basic, but fulfilling. They organise various activities throughout the week, I definitely encourage you to take part in at least one of them if you get a chance - it's a great opportunity to meet new people!

Finding a parking in the area wasn't that easy, I'd have appreciated receiving any recommendations from the hostel upfront.

Great location, not so great experience

I really enjoy staying at HI hostels because beds are comfortable enough and you kinda get everything you need for a budget solo-travel accommodation. The location of this hostel was exquisite, you could get to anywhere you want and it felt safe to be there.

Although HI hostels are fair considering its price and services, this one was too expensive (I stayed at other branches before and didn't pay as much, this one was literally 2x the price...) We did not have closets to put our stuff to - instead you're supposed to "buy" a lock and put your bags in a storage cage. There's literally NO need for a visitor to purchase additional needs like these. I hid my stuff under my pillow and sheets, hoping no one would take it from there. It was an uncomfortable experience. I also did not like the attitude of some staff - felt like they were hitting on girls. Weird!

Good for a single night

We got the last room in Vancouver at this hostel. Bed was a double, so small, but it was a comfortable mattress. Breakfast was basic but more than adequate. The area is a safe feeling neighbourhood

A great stay for a short trip to Vancouver!

The location is perfect, right in the heart of downtown. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and always stocked. The breakfast is great and very fulfilling.

Most part of the stay was greag except for these two items. 1. The mattress wasn't comfortable and needs replacement. 2. I saw a rat in the kitchen which is a major concern with the hygiene.

Good general location by Davie and walkable to Downton. Pleasant and helpful staff.

Building works opposite the T junction very loud. Room got very hot (July) despite fan and airconditioner. Corridor and dorm floor not carpeted - doors close hard at most hours and echo. A privacy curtain would have been good to stop light from roommates. Bring earplugs! I will say in most terms it was a decent hostel at excellent price, but you have to be able to sleep :(

Great bang for your buck!!

Everything about the hostel, staff, and location was exceptional. I would definitely make it my go-to place when revisiting BC. It was walking distance to necessities as well as iconic pleasure destinations like Stanley Park, beaches, and restaurants, to name a few. The kitchen was over the top clean and as well as the bathrooms. Breakfast was good, and guests created a fantastic social atmosphere.

The fake Marple syrup at breakfast - it's kind of an insult to Canadian culture - I think you can afford real syrup! Locker in my room was broken. Very annoying. Please review the lockers under the beds. It's not the only one broken.

Affordable satisfactory stay

Good affordable stay in downtown Vancouver! The location is good as you can find many restaurants and stores not far away and it is close to the beach area. They run a lot of events and tours and the breakfast was not bad neither

The hostel is on a hill so if you have a lot of luggage and are getting to the hostel by public transportation not by taxi or Uber, it might be a bit hard
