Great location, and a lovely old building. Yes there are stairs. Yes it’s an OLD building. But that’s why you’re there right? The staff were lovely, it was clean, the beds were comfortable and it was super quiet. To note, the shower in my room was very small and awkward, there are minor things like old hook holes in the drywall that haven’t been filled. Nothing that would make me not stay. The room could be decorated more Arty or eclectically, things similar hotels in the area do to add to the charm of an old building, but it’s comfortable bed in a beautiful city and worth a visit.

The Hotel Jardin du Goveneur is in an excellent location - literally on the same block as Le Chateau Frontenac. It is at the back, so it is a very quiet street. The concierge was very friendly. The bed & pillows were comfortable.
The room was adequate. The bathroom was small - understandablly so as this is a historic building. The shower was tiny (so much so that a larger person might have trouble using it, although I heard from another guest that they had a large shower).
The mattress did have a protective pad under the sheet (which I find important) but it was too small and didn’t cover the entire mattress. The duvet could have used a wash. The light fixtures and bathroom fan needed some attention. The air conditioner made a brief, but loud hum several times a night, which sounded more like a buzzer that woke me several times.
And lastly, often, the front desk was not staffed. There was code to get into the front door (for a small hotel, this is makes sense). However, we had to check out at 11:00 am but our flight didn’t leave until 7:00 pm so our bags had to be left in the lobby unsecured for hours during the day.

Check in was terrible. No e-mail with instructions and no one at the desk when we arrived, albeit at 10 pm. Had a terrible time getting a hold of someone through the call system and no one answered the phone. Beds were fine, not the cleanest place but man were that shower ever disgusting. We couldn't use it, pink mould halfway up the curtain, shower heads clogged and colourful with grime. Just disgusting, very surprised by the cost that this is what is being offered (and we got a good discount)
