Penny Cottage

Ben je Nederlands en wil je in het Peak District in een echte Engelse Cottage verblijven? Dit is dé plek! Are you Dutch (or any other foreign country person) and do you want to stay in a typical English Cottage in the Peak district? This is the place to come to. At the foot of a steep hill Penny Cottage offers you everything you want. A cosy stay, good beds and facilities, lovely cottage garden with places to relax and lovely host. Plenty of walking/hiking posibilities in the area and lots to see. Do visit Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall or the impressive remains of the industrial revolution: Masson Mill in closeby Matlock Bath. Visit the local pubs: The Kings Head (super lovely staff) or Barley Mow (nice food) & don't forget Bonsall's own Fountain Tea Room for some delicious homemade 'goodies' Mmmmmm! Oh, and bye the way: you probabely forgot how silence sounds? Well, here in Bonsall you have it in abundance, enjoy! (wr2026)

Nothing to complain!

This is an exceptional property. It is beautifully finished to a very, very high standard, and the owners have forgotten nothing in their efforts to make your stay delightful. From the moment you open the door (I won't spoil the surprise, but it will put a smile on your face) to when you finally leave, everything is a pleasure. It's not cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for and then some. We will certainly be back.

Having one set of keys for two couples was a bit of a pain. It meant that we weren't as free on an evening

Personal touches on arrival with message in scrabble letters and home made treats in fridge

Parking and access up steps with luggage problematic. A few more useful things in kitchen would help (scales, hand soap by sink).
