Great place for exploring Derbyshire

The layout was ideal as we were travelling with a friend and we could each have our own 'wing' upstairs with bathroom and toilet. The house had everything we wanted and a nice comfy lounge.

The spiral stairs were a little tricky to navigate with cases but the ornate metalwork looked beautiful.

Lovely, spacious accommodation in a quiet location just outside of Bonsall, near Matlock Bath.

Spacious Barn Conversion with 3 bedrooms, 2 En-suite bathrooms and 2 large rooms downstairs, one with a huge couch. Dining room very spacious with large dining table and everything you need for a great self catering break in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales.

Shower unit a little small and both stairwells were spiral staircases which may not be suitable for disabled; elderly persons or toddlers.

Perfect little holiday home. Had everything we needed for a family getaway. In a great location for the Dales and the Peak District, loads to visit nearby as well as some fantastic hikes.

Spacious well appointed property offering everything you needed for your stay, good location to explore the local area and countryside walks. Ideal to have on site parking, Hosts very welcoming.

The seating in the living room is very low and you slide into an uncomfortable slouch type position. Cleaning, a broken glass in the cupboard & a packet of biscuits found in between the cushions on the sofa.

Beautifully decorated, clean, good location for where we needed although worth noting a car is more needed than not! But we knew that anyway. Lovely welcome packs which my nephews stole 😂 including chocolates and wine!!

A lovely week away with our granddaughter.

Comfortable and well decorated. Kitchen well equipped. The situation was lovely - close to amenities but really isolated and quiet. The owned was fantastic, so caring and friendly.

A wonderful retreat away from hustle and bustle of every day like

All instructions regarding getting to the property and gaining access were very clearly given by email and texts. Our hosts contacted us regularly just to check that we were comfortable and if there was anything that they could help with. The greetings pack was a lovely touch too.

Rural location in a lovely setting

Excellent facilities for a mature couple, everything on one level. Although the cottage was small, it was more than adequate. Cleanliness was exceptional. Area was beautiful and the farm was in a lovely setting. Owner Liz was contactable & a great host.

Phone signal is very poor, but once on WiFi no problems. Perhaps the access code could have been sent earlier, to save the worry of not receiving the email

Really well appointed little cottage. Very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Great location as well. Lovely goody bag and the owner couldn’t have been more helpful whilst we were there.

Great rural location and made to feel very welcome.

The location is remote and the approach roads are narrow, but we are used to that living in rural Norfolk and loved the location. The local pub is within walking distance, albeit easier to walk down than back up (a rather steep incline). There are plenty of walks from the property although we were only there for 3 nights so only managed 1 from the door step. Local attractions/towns are all nearby - Matlock, Bakewell, Ashbourne, Carsington water etc etc. We found the property well located for what we wanted to do. Liz was very prompt in answering any messages we sent, a welcome pack is left with essentials and goodies and Liz even left a birthday card for our daughter which was a sweet touch. Would definitely recommend these cottages.

There was nothing we didn't like, the property was well equipped, we rented two properties for 3 nights, 7 adults, and most evenings congregated in one to eat etc and there was still plenty of room to sit around the table/on the sofas etc.

Loved the location, kids loved playing on the field when the sun finally came out, facilities were great. Owner was extremely helpful when I mistakenly left a top behind, received it in the post a couple of days later!

Happy, cosy and wonderfully catered for.

Beautiful setting and really well kept outside area, great for big groups/families, wonderful extra touches like the welcome packs, toys for the children, Easter eggs etc. The kitchens were really well kitted out with everything you could need and really clear recycling bags for everything.

Couldn’t work out how I turn the heating down on the thermostat! But we just turned the dial down on the radiator.

Very well equipped cottage with many facilities, such as dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, perfect for a family and those wanting to cook and eat meals. Comfortable, clean, pleasant decor. Friendly and helpful hosts.

Liked the location and cottage was well looked after.

Could have done with either a blind or thicker curtains in bedroom as it was too light to sleep in as soon as dawn broke it was so light in room I couldn't get back to sleep.

Great location for Alton Towers. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking family meals and handy dishwasher. Lovely arrival package from owners upon arrival was a nice touch. Beds were super comfortable.

Excellent location, lovely, well equipped cottage with everything we needed. Very helpful host - Liz made us very welcome, with great suggestion for shopping to be delivered. Good pub nearby - The Barley Mow, excellent food. Great for walking from the property and Chatsworth a short drive away. Lots to do in the area.

Quiet location. Parking right outside the door. Lovely welcome pack, biscuits and wine a good touch, very welcome! Both village pubs really good and welcoming. I didn't need to bring basics, toilet and kitchen roll, soap, shampoo etc all provided.

The small outside area doesn't get a lot of sun. Not much of a view from the cottage. Didn't like being woken at 5am by the boiler next to my head. A shelf in the shower would be helpful.
