About this apartment rental
Monastiraki Square is a two minute walk from this sixth floor apartment in Psyrri, where the Acropolis sits framed in the window and Mount Lycabettus rises beyond the terrace. Bright interiors with bold splashes of colour give a group of eight room to spread out, and the terrace table is where dinners stretch late over the rooftops. Cafés, tavernas, the central market and the metro are a few minutes on foot, and free super fast WiFi keeps you connected throughout.
The Space:
The apartment sits on the sixth floor and is laid out for a group of eight, with two living areas that let everyone gather together or spread out. The main space is open plan, bringing the living area, dining table and fully equipped kitchen together in one light filled room, with a queen size bed set behind sheer curtains along the windows and a window that frames the Acropolis. The second living area has its own dining table and opens directly onto the terrace, with a separate bedroom alongside it holding a second queen size bed. Each living area has a double sofa bed, so four more guests sleep comfortably, and air conditioning runs throughout. The kitchen has an oven, a microwave, a kettle and everything else you might need during your stay. One bathroom has a bathtub, another has a shower, and a separate WC keeps mornings moving for a full house. A washing machine means you can pack light and stay longer. The terrace is set up for eating outdoors, with a long table for shared meals and Mount Lycabettus rising on the skyline. An ideal destination for year-round vacations, perfect for families, friends, and couples.
Guest Access:
Guests will have exclusive access to the entire apartment and its private terrace.
The Neighborhood:
You are staying in Psyrri, the old artisans’ quarter at the heart of central Athens. Workshops have become cafés, tavernas and galleries, murals cover the walls, and the Acropolis rises over the rooftops to the south. It suits guests who want to walk everywhere, eat well and feel the city around them.
Monastiraki Square is 0.2 km away, Plaka about 0.7 km and Syntagma Square around 0.9 km, while the central market at 0.4 km and the grocery stores, bakeries and pharmacies nearby cover every daily need. The Athens Riviera starts with Edem in Palaio Faliro, about 6.5 km away, a long sandy beach with a palm lined promenade that the tram reaches with ease. Alimos, around 8 km away, offers sand, beach bars and water sports, Glyfada, about 13 km away, pairs a Blue Flag sandy beach with a lively seaside town, and Vouliagmeni, roughly 19 km away, brings clear water, rocky coves and swimming in the mineral lake nearby.
Green space starts close to home, with Areopagus Hill at 0.6 km and Philopappos Hill at 1.3 km, both laced with paths and facing the Parthenon, the National Garden at 1.2 km for shaded walks, and Lycabettus Hill at 1.7 km, the peak on your terrace skyline, with sunset views over the whole city. Further out, Mount Hymettus, about 7 km away, has pine forest trails around the Byzantine monastery of Kaisariani.
Hadrian’s Library, an archaeological site, is 0.2 km away, the Roman Agora with the Tower of the Winds is 0.4 km, the Ancient Agora and the Temple of Hephaestus 0.5 km, the Acropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, about 1 km, and the Acropolis Museum around 1.1 km.
Days here revolve around food and wandering, so browse the Monastiraki flea market on a Sunday morning, pick up spices and olives in the market streets, and settle in for souvlaki, loukoumades or meze with ouzo. Ferries from Piraeus put Aegina within easy reach for a day on an island.
Getting Around:
Athens International Airport is about 20 km away in a straight line, around 35 km by road, and metro Line 3 runs direct from Monastiraki station to the airport. Piraeus, the country’s main port, is about 8 km away and linked directly by both Line 1 and Line 3, with ferries to the Saronic islands, the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, Crete and beyond. Monastiraki station, served by Lines 1 and 3, is around 0.2 km from your door, city buses run along Athinas Street about 0.2 km away, and the tram from Syntagma, around 0.9 km away, carries you south to the beaches of the Riviera. Most of what you came for is a walk away, and a car lets you go further, along the coastal road to Cape Sounion and its Temple of Poseidon, about 70 km by road, or into the wine villages of the Attica countryside.
