Town: Chorley is a town in Lancashire, England, nestled close to Black Brook. Evidence has been discovered that human settlement has existed since the Bronze Age, though unconfirmed until the Middle Ages. Home of the Chorley cake, this thriving town offers a large number of independent shops and supermarkets for picking up those last-minute essentials, as well as some traditional pubs and restaurants for that fine dining experience. Further afield is the seaside town of Southport, residing in Merseyside, but was historically part of Lancashire when it was founded in 1792. Southport provides an exceptional amount of attractions that are well-worth a visit, including Southport Pleasureland, an amusement park with thrilling rides, a go-kart track and an indoor play area, perfect if you're travelling with your little ones. Also popular is Southport beach for those summer months, Southport Pier, the nearby Royal Birkdale Golf club and the main shopping centre on Lord Street. With a wealth of thing to do in the area, you are well-placed for touring the best of country and coast.
