The house was large and spacious. We loved having the extra smeg fridge, as we used this as a beer fridge . The garden areas were super if you had the weather to make the most of it. The driveway was ideal as we had 4 cars between us. The location was perfect for us, with a local booths and pub within 5 mins walk from the house.

The lounge was quite dark in the evening, so maybe some brighter bulbs would help. The bbq had been left very dirty.

A large house which accommodated our group of 10. We all had our own space and the 3 ensuite bedrooms and seperate bathrooms ensured we all had privacy. We also liked the secure parking on the driveway.

The day before we arrived we were sent check in details for the house from Sasco along with the longest list of rules I have ever seen for any holiday let I have ever been to! I am an Airbnb host myself so I understand the importance of guests respecting property and having house rules but the tone of the email was almost threatening and not welcoming at all with talk of being fined for all kinds of things. We entered the house feeling like we needed to check for any existing damage for which we could be blamed for and our £500 damage deposit being withheld. We did report a couple of things which isn't the way a holiday should begin! The house had a strong smell of dog in almost every room (nothing against dogs, we all have them ourselves but didn't bring them with us) and attempts had been made to cover the smell by using plug in air fresheners which just added to the unpleasant smell. The downstairs double bedroom in particular had a really strong smell of dog and something else unpleasant we couldn't put our finger on. We noticed all of the bedding on this bed was damp to the point of being wet. We phoned Sasco straight away and made a complaint as there was no way anyone could have slept in this bed. We were asked 'is there a leak?' and 'is it really wet?' So we felt as though we had to plead our case slightly in order for someone to come out and change the sheets. As a holiday let host myself, I would never question a guess complaint in such a way. I would have been out straight away to fix it - no questions asked! After two phone calls we went out for tea and when we got back around 7ish the sheets had thankfully been changed. The house itself is nice and the garden is beautiful but there is a lack of attention to detail and personal touches. Lamps with no bulbs in, no dishcloth to wipe surfaces, no tea pot or coffee pot, dining table still dirty with food dried on it and signs of wear and tear with the kitchen units.
