About this house rental
On the property, you can spot partial ocean views, while comfortable seating invites you to sit and enjoy the calm, peaceful moments of life on the coast. Breathe in the fresh air and enjoy merienda (a mid-afternoon snack) al fresco in the courtyard, on the lanai-style veranda, or in the enclosed garden. For more filling fare, you can barbecue your favorite dishes on the grill.
Inside, the living room boasts a big-screen TV and a plush sectional couch with plenty of room to spread out and make yourself comfortable for movie night. You and your fellow travelers can share meals at the six-top table (which doubles as a great spot for board games).
In the fully-equipped kitchen, the farmhouse sink and wood countertops add to the hacienda-style aesthetic, while modern appliances ensure that cooking is a breeze.
Home chefs will appreciate that the kitchen has a 4-top electric stove, large refrigerator and freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and kitchen island, while those who are less morning-inclined will appreciate the coffeemaker.
Each of the two bedrooms has its own flatscreen TV, so you can get cozy and comfortable to watch anything from romcoms to thrillers. One bedroom has a queen-size bed and a sliding door to the deck and office. The second bedroom has a full-size bed and a chair and table set ideal for a romantic breakfast for two. Both bedrooms have ample natural lighting and heavy curtains for when you prefer to sleep in. In the office, the foldout couch has a full-size futon. One bathroom has a shower-over-tub, and the other has a shower.
A washer and dryer round out the amenities – you'll always have fresh clothes, whether you're heading to the beach, going shopping, or enjoying the Mendocino Coast's lively arts and culture scene.
With the prime location of Casitas By The Sea, you'll have an array of options for entertainment! The property is walking distance from a small, secluded beach (and the house has a convenient supply of beach towels, so you can make every day a beach day if you want…). A short drive south takes you to destinations like the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, Jug Handle State Park, the Point Cabrillo Light Station, and Russian Gulch. To the north, the Coastal Trail offers miles of paved walking with panoramic ocean views, and MacKerricher State Park's famous boardwalk to Laguna Point will delight visitors of all ages.
In Fort Bragg, you can enjoy shopping, award-winning restaurants, art galleries, antiquing, live music, and world-famous ice cream. (Cowlicks's seasonal ice cream flavors include mushroom, ginger, pumpkin, peppermint, and more.) In Noyo Harbor, you can book a fishing or whale-watching charter, or you can stay on land and enjoy fresh seafood with an incredible view. (Keep an eye out for the antics of seals and sea lions playing in the harbor's waters or sunning themselves on the south docks.)
The smaller town of Mendocino channels a New England village, and was, in fact, the setting for Murder, She Wrote. Almost the entire coastline there is part of Mendocino Headlands State Park, which means that you can explore nature and take in vast ocean views just steps from fine dining, quirky eateries, and inviting bakeries.
With the Casitas By The Sea as your home away from home here on the Mendocino Coast, you'll fall in love with this enchanting corner of the world. El mar (the sea) is calling, and Casitas By The Sea is ready to welcome you to the Pura Vida!
