    I traveled to Yumoto with two family members, one of which is allergic to wheat. 1. Although they did mention there is few options for dinner, other than the restaurant in the hotel, we didnt realize there are NO options in Yumoto. Why? Because 1. All hotels have colluded with each other to only allow guests who stay the night eat dinner there 2. For Unwind they require three days advance notice to eat dinner there, so if you forgot/dont realize the situation, you have no options. 3. The only convenience store, unconviniently closes at 4pm. Everything in the town is set up to cause guests issue. Officially the reason they dont serve you is because all the food is sold to the other guests, but meals are a mix of buffet and a la carte. No matter how much money you offer - you could offer $100 USD/person for what is leftover in the buffet, they wont sell to you. On the other hand, they have a bar that opens at 8pm and charges nothing for ALL OF THE BOOZE. I am a small business owner and I cannot understand how any business refuses money for leftover food, but then gives away alcohol. This is totally strange. If you dont book the restaurant they have a small shop to buy frozen food and reheat for dinner, but none of the food was gluten free. I asked if just my aunt could eat food from the buffet as she couldnt have anything from the shop, but me and my uncle would eat from the shop. They had no interest to discuss this with us. Even for one person who has dietary constraints. Ultimately we went to another hotel and bought a bag of chips that was gluten free and that was her dinner. My aunt and uncle had a very bad experience on their first visit to Japan. I just think Yumoto is a very strange place and would not recommend visiting any hotel in the town. If hotels go bankrupt, its clearly due to poor management who do not seem to be interested in making money.
